Hello folks! Some quick updates, for the end of the year, and also because there are some new folks about. So:
1. I am pretty quiet on Patreon, for... reasons, mostly reasons of not knowing what to say on a regular basis. I dunno if I will or should continue to be! You do of course continue to have early access to the things I write, while they are still confused and unedited. That exists via 2023-12-31 23:47:00 +0000 UTC

So, I said I would try to have an update by the end of January :P (…probably I said I would have an update by the end of January). Also my last one was not necessarily all that elucidating, so. Anyway.
The first episode of the Dark Horse serial, season 7 is up with annotations for y’all. The final chapter of the second The Trouble With Coyotes is not up now but should, hopefully, be available on Dropbox maybe this weekend if I am industrious (the penultimate chapte...

Hi, folks :)
It being close to the end of the year, and all, I figured I would give you some kind of an update? I’ve been kicking this one around in my head for a couple months, trying to decide what to say, but then I figured what with you being subscribers and all, you might as well just get whatever’s in my head, which is:
I hope you’re all doing okay. I’m grateful for the support of my readers, in all the forms that...

...I presume that's a day, right?
Anyway. I hope that spring is treating you well :) this is mostly just a couple of quick updates. One is that I've updated the writing.dog CMS, so if you have an account there everything should be working but I might've missed something.
Two is that, boy, I really wish I hadn't gone with a CMS. Or at least, not with that CMS. I'm halfheartedly considering some kind of refactor; concrete5 is very heavy and brittle for what I want ...

Hello, all! I hope that you've been having a good year, or a reasonable enough year! And that, for you Northern Hemisphere folk, spring is being... reasonably springlike. This serves as an update on just a random scattering of things :P
First, the CMS I use for writing.dog doesn't do a great job of surfacing updates, which means those updates have probably been somewhat transparent. So, since the last update:
- I've corrected a bug that was leading the map viewer to fail to re...

At least, I'm assuming we've made it past groundhog day ;)
Some notes: I've made some additional updates in the background to the Hatikvah maps, the Moreauverse TO&E, and the Rukhat dictionary; the TO&E is still technically a work in progress but it's getting closer to fully outlining the scope of the Kashkin army, the OVKK.
I cannot possibly convey enough the degree to which you should not attempt to build such a table of organization and equipment yourself. As a...

Hello, all you beautiful people :)
It has been a while. I haven't really known what to say, and it's been a... let's say a not-great year. So I've been remiss in doing what I should've done, which is to at least let you know what's going on. I can't promise I will do better! I can promise I will try to do better ;)
Because also, I realize that if you're not keeping tabs on any given project there's no clear way of tracking those updates. The major refactoring of the mapping system...

Hello, lovelies!
Happy New Year, uh, belatedly. I hope that it has been treating you well enough. I have been quiet, and I have not posted anything on SoFurry either, so: this serves as confirmation that I am still alive, and here are some updates as to what has been going on in the background.
First off: hopefully writing.dog is working for you. My webhost was (quite understandably) unhappy about the outdated version of PHP I was running, and so I've wound up both updati...

I forgot to include this yesterday, but also, here's an update to the word generation script I use. I've fixed a bug that caused the generator to crash when generating new Russian words because I did not think about the implications of apostrophes. I've also added a new feature, "limit." This checks to see whether a specified length of characters already exists in the selected corpus, which if nothing else helps to prevent situations where the generator, when running in exclusive (i.e. only r...

Hello, lovely people. It is… well, judging by this week in Berlin, it is thinking about being winter here, and I have been too quiet in providing updates. I’m very sorry about that, especially if it’s given anyone the impression that this project is abandoned. It’s not abandoned, but the regular content updates to writing.dog were not ones that I thought, generally, warranted a full post here, and then… that got away from me. You are a wonderful crowd and I’m incredibly thankful f...

Hello, all you lovely people! It’s been too long since I provided any kind of update, although honestly time seems to be moving much faster these days also, so… maybe that meets somewhere in the middle. I hope your summer is going alright, and that you had a safe and happy Fourth of July, or Bastille Day, or both.
Just to catch you up on some general updates over the past month:
- A new chapter of An Iron Road Running has been posted, leaving one left. I’ve made...

That is, in any case, what it was called on the Trello board. I'm not sure where May ended and June began, to be honest, so. Suffice it to say that it feels a little like March, as it did last month and the month before that.
I would like, most importantly, to say that I hope you're doing well: that you're staying safe, that you and your loved ones are healthy, and that you're able to make your way through the <waves hands vaguely> the everything. There's a lot of it, and I am inc...

Hello hello, fuzzies :) I hope that spring is treating you well, and you're taking care of yourselves and staying... at least in reasonably good spirits. I will keep this short! First off, some updates as to what's changed since the last post, aside from me having, uh, more free time than I used to :P
"Through Great Cloudy Skies" is uploaded to SF and to writing.dog; I hope that people like(d) this story—it's set in Cannon Shoals, but about a hundred years ago so there's no requiremen...

Hello, everyone! It's been... well, a bit too long since I've updated you on anything. The reasons are probably unsurprising; needless to say, I hope that you and your loved ones are doing well. I am incredibly thankful for your continued to support, and for what it's worth I want to make clear that I'm also completely understanding if you need, want, or decide to stop. I will not be rigorously policing user accounts or anything.
That said, to catch you up on where things are at and wha...

Hello, all—
Welcome to March! I hope you've been having a good one? This has been a slow-ish couple of weeks in terms of uploading content, for... well, various irrelevant reasons, actually, I guess. So, as notes:
- I fixed a bug that was preventing the Brave New World map from displaying. A few new rivers and islands have been added, for capital-r Reasons.
- I also fixed a bug that was preventing one of the names lists from working. Oops.
- I added a lis...

Heya, fuzzies. I just wanted to update you on what’s been going on, and also to pose a few questions!
First, updates: I’ve added some more entries to the Star Patrol encyclopedia, as well as added some limited SVG map support. This also means, for those playing the home game, that there is now—sort of—a map of the Star Patrol setting. At the very least, the various sectors are now kind of organized. I’ve also added a search function to the logic used for displaying CSVs on the...

I’m hoping you’re having an okay New Year’s so far! Things have been a bit… hectic here, over in writing|dog world, with CES and also with me trying to get my passport renewed and just generally being a catastrophe :p So. New stories have been written, but I’m still in the process of getting them marked up and uploaded. With luck, now that I’m no longer stuck in the US and can go home, I should be able to get some of that done tomorrow and be back on tra...

Hello, all :) Checking in with you as the year winds down, and I wanted most of all to say thank you! Thank you for being wonderful people, and I hope you've been having a good December so far. And, because to be honest 2019 was an... imperfect... year, I also hope that 2020 is a good one for you right from the off.
I'm not sure how best to use these posts—they wind up being mostly reminders of what's been going on on the site, in case you have missed them or there are things...

Hello everyone!
First off, thank you for being wonderful :) I hope you've been having a good month so far, and I hope the rest of it continues to treat you well! I'd like to catch you up on a few quick notes.
I've uploaded "Changes" and "Salvage" (the new Dark Horse episode) to writing.dog, which brings it back into parity with the current posting schedule on SoFurry. Apologies that there was a delay on the former, though for reasons explained in the commentary it was important th...

First of all, I just want to thank you <3 You are wonderful people, and I’m honored and thankful to have your support. …That sounds more like I’m running for office than writing furry short stories >.> but I mean it. Thank you <3
Next, updates. So, unfortunately I’ve been working 60–70 hour weeks for the last month or so, which slowed down my rate of updating older stories. New material to SoFurry has all been uploaded with annotations to writing.do...

Hello, all. End of the month updates:
Everything posted to SoFurry has been crossposted to writing.dog, including the newest chapter of The Valiant and the Bold and “Sometimes I Live in the Town,” a Cannon Shoals story that focuses on Joan Findlay and her… tumultuous emotions.
I have also uploaded “All the Happy Saints,” which is a story from the ebook Bodies in Motion and has not previously been published online. So, from a value proposition point of view, there is some...

Couple of updates for y'all. First, the newest chapter of The Valiant and the Bold is now up on Writing Dot Dog. This and the chapter following it are, uh, "adult"; then we're clean for a chapter. At least, as it's currently written. I have also uploaded "2019-08-31 12:07:05 +0000 UTC

As I said in the notes, I intend to work through my entire backlog, edit, and upload them. Finishing Cry Havoc! and Bodies in Motion was the big priority; beyond that, is there anything you would like to see cleaned up and available?
Also (and this goes as a question for everyone, not just library subscribers) ...

Okay, now that I’m done breathing into a paper bag for a moment, I have the Q&A for the Patreon launch up on SoFurry now. Easier than to keep putting it off >.>
Other notes for this lovely Saturday before I go try to find more croissants:
Or it has not yet begun?
Cry Havoc 2.0, the canonical version of the novel, is now uploaded in its entirety on writing.dog. If you are a subscriber, you should be able to access all of the additional commentary, totalling in the end 21,142 words of translation, commentary, and explanation for what in God's name I was thinking.
Compared to the SF version, 2.0 includes 5,000 words of new content, split across three scenes. The final of those introduces the character of Cori...

Hullo all! This is a quick update. Attached (and live on writing.dog) is a revision of the map rendering engine based on some quick tweaks I made yesterday afternoon, some of which are to make things easier for me and some of which are to make them easier for you :P To wit:
Here is the post I should've written yesterday :P
I've uploaded the first chapter of The Valiant and the Bold as well as the first half of Cry Havoc! with commentary and notes and suchlike. At the moment, halfway done, Cry Havoc! has 13,000 words of commentary and explanations, some various bits of worldbuilding, and a TO&E for a Light Espatier platoon because of course it does. At this point, the Writing Dog Cry Havoc! also diverges from the SoFu...

Hello fuzzies!
Sorry about the relatively slow pace of updates here. I was on vacation for the first two weeks of August, during which I also lost access to my laptop for the foreseeable future. This will not manifestly impact my ability to make stuff, but it did limit it while I was traveling :/
General updates:
The Cannon Shoals map has been slightly tweaked, and now includes most of the main locations mentioned in the story (although not all of them are labeled). Things t...

Hullo everyone! Here's a quick update to let you know where we're at with things.
* There are now 17 stories in the library. I'm delaying on getting Cry Havoc! posted because I'm needing to do more editing than I thought and I think I'm going to try getting through the novel before I start uploading things again.
* Stories now list their content level from the "Libraries" page, so that you know immediately what you're getting yourself into.
* I've updated the render...
