Well, this is definitely not the update I thought I would be sharing today but life is unpredictable sometimes. If you did not catch the last live stream or see any of the previous posts, we had some pretty serious water damage to the condo we have been renting. I was taking a work break last Tuesday when I suddenly heard loud water sounds. I walked down the hall to find a pretty good crack in the kitchen ceiling with water pouring out of it. Turns out the upstairs unit had a small leak that had aggressive pressure.
What originally looked like some ceiling damage in one area quickly led to the entire kitchen needing to be ripped out (walls, cabinets, flooring, ceiling,), half of the living room walls (where all of my printers are and where I record/stream), and all of the flooring. By some miracle no printers or any of our belongings have been damaged.
Our lease was up at the end of August and we were planning on moving from CA to ID a bit before then. Due to the extent of damage, I have talked to our landlord and we are getting out of our lease early. The construction is likely going to take many weeks. I just put in my application on Friday for a rental house in ID and the property owner said everything looks good. (He was great and we had a long phone call about the situation). We are supposed to receive the lease documentation by tomorrow and will hopefully be signing the lease Monday. The current tenants of that place will be out around June 4th so we are hoping to be moved in around the second week of June.
So what does that mean for regular videos on ModBot and streams on ModBotArmy? I have packed up about 70% of our place but luckily the streaming setup is completely mobile on a cart which is where I am writing this update. The plan is to hopefully continue with the weekly streams and videos during this time to the best of my ability. It will be a bit more limited in what we can do but I have machines still out so I see no reason why we cannot due print and chill hangouts unless construction is going full force.
I will do my absolute best to update everyone when I have the information but if I am slower than normal to reply to messages this is the reason why. Thank you all for your continued support. This is not what we had planned but we are trying to look on the brightside and once we are settled there will be so much more room for printers, projects, and other shenanigans.
Cheers :)
