Dreaming about carriers...

A common complaint about Tiandong Heavy Industries is that they lack any carrier designs above destroyer scale. I always answer that with they don't technically *need* more and or larger carriers since they also use vanilla ships but that I do intend to add cruiser (and above?) ones later.

But how many is too many? That is a good question, one I wouldn't mind bouncing off my fans and patrons. One thing about Starsector carrier gameplay is that I find "pure carriers" very, very boring... Not that they don't have a place in the game, but they have like no player agency to fly and not much more to fight against. So if I am to add combat carriers, I want each to have their own shticks and niches so it is not redundant to add more than one.

So I will most likely be adding *three* cruiser carriers and one REDACTED, and all of these will be combat carriers except for one of the cruisers. Is this too much? Perhaps, but it will be awesome. Or maybe I am just too much of a sucker having played the Hell out of things like Wing Commander 1 and 2, and later Freespace 1 and 2 during my junior years...


Also please don't ask when these things will be added to the mod, it is to be disclosed! And one final remark heh, please excuse the not so impressive quality of the teaser image. Truthfully I could have spent a lot more time and effort on it but there is work that must be done!
