Clearing Out The Attic - EFO Shenannigans

I case you have missed it, "Clearing out the Attic" was a behind the scenes show that we produced  live at the Maritim Hotel in Magdeburg on September 26, 2021 for Eurofurence Online.

The announcement said: "Join Cheetah and Haku in a classic show-and-tell, as they dig through  the crates in the attic of the Pawpetshow storage while  mindlessly  rambling about all the old props, devices, odds and ends they might  find. May contain traces if alcohol."

That was a lie. We made the mistake of making Dingo responsible for the drinks, and the planned "traces" of alcohol turned into a full blown challenge :) Still, we had loads of fun creating this ridiculously chaotic mess of a show, and in true pawpetshow tradition, overdraw our timeslot by nearly half an hour.  

I'm really happy how it all turned out, and you'd be surprised how much preparation and hard work was actually behind this production that looks so random and spontaneous. We began collecting ideas and work on a script many weeks before, and the logistics of getting all this stuff (which, spoiler alert, was actually not all in one place in our attic :) ) from the last15 years of PPS history to Magdeburg were quite tricky.

Also, the air conditioning was not turned on that day, and it was about 30°C on the set - watch my shirt. The line of sweat is a nice progress indicator, by the end of the show I was completely soaked. One of my biggest challenges despite the rapid supply of stiff drinks was trying not to drip sweat onto any of the precious props or artwork. (Until Haku outdid me by spilling an entire cup of mulled whine straight onto the table.)

Haku and I (the minds behind this show) could not have pulled it off without the support of the entire team, and I'd especially have to thank Reesa, Lynard, KayJay, o'wolf and Kida whose backstage support before and during the show was just perfect! Same goes for the A/V Crew of EFO, who handled the mayhem we created with ease and an amount of professionalism I'm not sure we deserve :)
