January 2026 Update

Hello! I'll make it simple, most of the work this month was done tiling the levels, as they have now gone through playtesting! Because of this, I will be showing off ~4.5 minutes of gameplay from both Pastel Park and Cherrypost!
World 1 is now in pretty good shape!! Well, until Castle Matsumoto is redone, but that won't be for a bit. It has some flaws that need ironed out, and could.. be a better first "real" level.

First, though, is the ladder duster weapon. Damage values and knockback may be tweaked.
Purchasable from Maple Leaf! Playtesters had conflicting opinions on whether or not there should be a ladder attack, and I think this is a good compromise.

Naoki now has a new animation for appearing. She'll poof in to heal you during fights, and this animation will replace the falling animation she has in levels.

We also have a new team member, gunpowder, who is doing concept/design work. though I don't feel as though it's ready to show their contributions.
They are the one who designed the paint bucket block, however, so it really was about time they were hired!

I'm pretty happy with how these turned out! Unfortunately, there's unfinished backgrounds and no music because they are not done, but the tiling and other graphics are all there.
