[UPDATE] Demo ver 7.0 is live!

This month's update comes out to 30k new words of content (for a total of 260k words overall), all of them taking place after the funeral scene where the last update ended. It is concerned mostly with exploring the Arcadian branches, as shown in the sneak peek, with the latter half of the update laying the groundwork for the next big conflict. Yu is the star of the show this update (as you may have expected, as we now take our first steps into Yotai), and I'm quite happy to finally be able to explore their backstory! I've been really excited to write it, so finally putting it to paper feels like having a load taken off my shoulders.
Beyond the new story content, I've also implemented a number of small fixes all around, and added alt text to image files like chapter / codex headers. I'm also currently working on the Archangel route of the opening scene, which remains a thorn in my side to this day. Hopefully I'll be able to append it to the update within the first week, hence bringing us up to 35k words' worth of an update.

As a final note, Patreon should kick back into usual gear next month, with the current monthly goal being a 25k-word update + a side story as well. Monthly features and artworks will also return in December, so please be on the lookout for those. :D

Thank you for enjoying it! I get super carried away with storyboarding everyone's tragic backstories, but when the time actually comes to write their scenes, I have to take frequent pauses because of the emotional load haha. :') Please take care of yourself as well!

The second book's acts are all designed to have very different central conflicts, so as not to make it a constant slog of rescuing innocent Arcadians under Parami/Salantir thumbs. The faction is still very self-serving and ruthless despite their arguably noble goals, and I intend to show that in its entirety! With regard to the personal freedoms: Yes, I would definitely say Arcadia is more authoritarian in that sense. Mind you that neither Param and Salantira are bastions of personal expression, either, but they do carry the benefit of not being overseen by an omniscient ruler. Breaking away from what it looks like in practice, though, degrees of freedom is conceptually held to an equal(ly low) standard across all of Arvanand--and given Tahlia's powerset, most of the people in charge would also opt for a Big Brother style of leadership (Leon being a notable exception, but not Julius). In states with such clear-cut hierarchies as the ones in Arvanand, I find this to be a natural consequence of the form of governance: that one is to always obey the word of their social superiors, and to suffer severe consequences if they do not. Nobles are exempt from this framework to a small extent, as monarchs will still need to maintain popular support amongst their nobility to keep their rules stable, hence giving the latter some form of bargaining power. But the fact remains that any attempt to do so is borne out of self-interest rather than genuine respect for the other's personal freedoms!

It is really interesting to see the world history on the stats page and you wrote about economy and military and I was wondering when it comes to personal freedoms, expression and surveillance is Arcadia more authoritarian than Param and Salantira? I remember it being mentioned that Tahlia is the only true authority there and keeps tabs on everyone.
