On this week's Podcast of the Planet of the Apes, we're talking about what is probably the most extreme, radically political entry in the franchise: Conquest of the Planet of the Apes from 1972. This movie is not fucking around, it has a very loud and urgent point to make and it makes it in the most shocking-for-hollywood way possible. By virtue of its subject matter and context, it's also the entry most deeply rooted in racial as well as class allegory, and we make an attempt to discuss how effectively it's able to navigate that.
So yeah, this one's less of a Hang Out episode but it's still a good one, as the material is some of the best we've covered on a podcast to date. Once again, thanks so much for your patronage and we encourage you to stick around as we close out the first half of this podcast miniseries with BATTLE FOR THE PLANET OF THE APES in another couple of weeks.
