Monthly sketchbook
Added 2022-05-09 17:57:40 +0000 UTCsketchbook is kind of light this month, but I wanted to revisit an old idea for a story my girlfriend and I would like to develop. It's about 2 teenagers in 1999 who are obsessed with ~Fuzzmigos~ and strike up a friendship in an online chatroom... right before the Y2K BUG hits and destroys all computers, sending the world immediately into apocalyptic 90s/2000s wasteland. Rabid boy bands roam the streets. You can hear Sugar Ray playing from an old radio tower in the distance. Our two heroes always used to joke that they would find each other if y2k ever happened for real, and they find pretty quickly that they're miserable without each other, so they set out on a cross-country quest to find each other.
Anyway, NATURALLY, I've gotten really hung up on what the Fuzzmigos should look like. There are some sketches in a previous post as well... I was out at a coffee shop drawing these and trying to remember what they looked like, lol. I think they might look TOOO much like furbies? I might have to tweak it a bit more. But I'm very dead set on the faceplate being a perfect trifecta of circles (the eyes, the beak), I think that's a key part of the design. And I'm also really adamant that they need to lack one appendage (in the case of furbies, it's arms, so I think maybe these guys shouldn't have feets?). Idk. Still working that out. But it's been a fun exercise to try and crack it!
