But Your Honor, Free Bird was Playing! - Chapter 2

Olympus, Council Chamber - Zeus

"Oh fuck no, it's you."

Zeus distinctly remembered them, her first words upon meeting him, recognizing him.

That moment for mortals was usually one filled with awe, with dread, with elation, with shame, with horror, and of course lust, a personal favorite. Or any combination of emotions.

All of it made his heart swell with pride. Rightfully his, for only he gets to indulge in it. The luscious pleasure of knowing a mo...

The story of two Self Insert in the PJO world with a very specific murder-oriented goal.

Warmth.

That was all I was conscious of. A feel of safety, warmth and a quiet comforting buzz under my skin. Or the buzz was my skin, I'm not sure.

Movement.

And then...

Light!

I breathed for the first time again.

Again?

Wait, that's right, I am...

"He's... not making any noise." Said a timid uncertain voice.

If It's Stupid But It Works... Then It's Still Stupid & It's a Miracle That It Worked - Chapter 6

"Alright, come down, we need to talk about what you've done." Ares said with a smirk. He seemed to have a natural growl of subtle anger, even when he's smiling or seemingly calm.

Guess that's just a part of being the God of War.

"Yes, sir!" I called out and jumped down with no problem. I placed my hand on the giant bronze baseball and focused on shrinking it back to it's normal size. Hmm, it seems like it needs a bit of a wiggle.

"Now, you just killed my guard for my Sacr...

On the fourth day of our sea journey, we reached Westport, Connecticut. Thorny docked the boat in Saugatuck River at Bluff Point.

"So I'm gonna head out and come back with at least two demigods, so please be ready to head out to Long Island as soon as possible." I told Thorny.

"At leas—You know what?" He raised his hands, palms open in a gesture that says 'I don't give a shit anymore'. "I don't wanna know. Take all the time you need. In fact, don't come back for a few days, I'm...

Thankfully, Zeus continued to flex by ensuring the plane landed in Lake Whitehurst, basically right next to the Norfolk International Airport.

After getting on the boats to the airport, and ensuring some people saw me alive, I used the Mist to disguise my leaving and left. Wait, that's redundant.

Anyways, taking a taxi to the nearest port (I swear something about how the taxi trip should be shorter was in the back of my mind, but I'm not sure why), Port of Norfolk, I set about f...

Okay, maybe I spoke too soon about today not being a bad first day on this journey to Camp Half-Blood.

"Child of the divine, answers my riddles three, or thy path shall end with me." Said the grinning sphinx. In the middle of the airport.

"How did you even get here? Why do you work here?" I couldn't help but ask, incredulous.

The sphinx was wearing an airport employee shirt, sitting behind an information desk.

I tried to go around unnoticed, but the monster was fast...

Hermes snapped his fingers, leaving in style as he transformed into light that rode the winds.

So cool. I couldn't help but think.

I sighed unable to keep my smile off my face. I should probably feel afraid, or at least anxious.

Instead I'm kinda excited. Quite frankly when I first realized what world I was reborn into, I felt stressed.

Then I learned who my dad was, and I was stressed and confused. I wasn't sure what my role was in this world, the grand sche...

Minus, The Witch POV:

Minus was in silent contemplation. What she was feeling right now...

How many years? She wondered. How many centuries has it been since I've experienced genuine, unadulterated fear?

The fact that she was having this thought was in its own way hilarious to Minus. That as soon as she attained the Divine Gift of Precognition, she had been experiencing one surprising and, or shocking experience after another.

The monster's core grinded into nothing long before I reached the end of the tunnel. And when it was gone I sent a wave of fire to get rid of anything left behind just in case.

My hand was red and bloody as I looked at it in the end. The skin was shredded and peeled back in some places. The muscles of my shoulders, biceps and forearms felt like they were burning. Shoulder blades and back muscles hurt a bit too.

I put my mind out of the pain in my limbs right now, as I was focusing...

Ancient Einsam POV:

It was a monster of regrets. It's earliest memory was of a man falling down a cliff.

The Einsam was not sure what was that a memory of.

Was that its first victim, running after the image of a loved one?

Was that its first illusion, a trick image, used to making someone else run after them and fall to their death?

Or perhaps that memory was from its first prey, from the first time it connected a tether to another human?

Or was th...

The rooms being constructed for the new kids were finished. The matron got worker for the farm, volunteers from town that wanted to help. The oldest kids would join them.

"Being polite is normal." I said stiffly as I sat next to the Orange Woman.

The annoying thing was, I couldn't help but want to relax in her presence. Like I had to intentionally try to be rigid and annoyed.

"True, but not at the expense at torturing yourself." She replied in a casual playful tone.

"What are you talking about?" I said back, almost flinching at her words.

A PJO story following the Son of Koalemos.

===

The place was a house on a small farm in Orange County, North Carolina.

Hermes, God of Roads and Travels, Messenger of the Gods, walked out of a flash of light and wind, as he manifested on a front walk leading to a simple two story idyllic home with a farmstead next to it. A capybara laid on the porch sleeping.

He stepped onto the porch and rang the doorbell, internally sighing, and hoping this con...

Perception illusion.

I've experienced it many times already at this point. It wasn't just about tricking me to confuse distance or direction.

It's also how the Einsam is able to make an illusion hit me emotionally even when I know it's not real.

I thought I'd get used to it. The feeling of guilt of killing my "friends" in an illusion usually goes away when I leave the Death Tunnel, only to return fresh the next time I experience it.

It turns out that wasn't al...

The energy of the Erdruf rippled out and exponentially enveloped the mountain.

As the energy passed through the rock and stone, it shook the material, creating a resonance that send that material to vibrate.

Given that I used the full strength of the spell (something that Schroff warned against) I expected that I'd have a small window to dash through the Death Tunnel, or if not, try and break through the stone.

What I didn't expect was for the spell to abruptly and immediate...

I said, on the complete absolute and ridiculous chance that this can work. That the monster would accept having one less enemy in the world. It can understand sincerity right?

Floating atop the battlefield I gave the whole area one last surveying look, using full sight mana detection, before shutting it off to normal mana detection. I was starting to get a headache.

Everyone's mana levels were gone as they didn't have the life force to generate any. Meaning, thankfully, hopefully, everyone was dead, Dave.

I flew away from the battlefield to the direction of Ackerheim, as I was lost in thought. How do I get the Shineglow Moss from the Death Tunn...

I may have mentioned this in the thread, but I wanted to elaborate on it now.

I'm going to on a trip starting tomorrow May 28th. I'll be gone for two weeks, and I won't have a laptop so chapter updates won't be happening till I come back on June 10th and even then I likely won't have anything posted for a day or two as I decompress from the trip.

Just wanted to let you all know that Fear Not the Elf updates won't be happening, most likely, till June 12th.

There was crack, so I at least managed that.

I stepped back and swung upward. The sword struck the knight's shield again, his arm leaning away from all the punishment it forced to endure. I slashed from his open side.

Annoyingly Jilwer is off, as I was in range of the stupid crystal shield.

The knight finally got his sword out an...

A single moment where I thought if I should stop.

I floated in the sky about three kilometers above. Using the Line Mode of mana detection I could see that at least the army still isn't close yet. Because they didn't enter Line Mode's range.

Two hours till Ackerheim is besieged.

Two hours until Old Schroff is fighting. Because I know the old man, no matter how much he acts, no matter how much he tries to distance himself to things, to people he cares.

What made the future change?
