Cemu news
Added 2021-06-25 21:54:50 +0000 UTC(in case you are getting an email about this on the 28th, its because we made this accessible to the news tier as well)
Hey everyone,
no release today since we just couldn't get enough features and bug fixes done to warrant one. Sorry :(
We are aiming for a release next Friday instead.
The things we have been working on for the past two weeks:
- DLC support in the Download Manager
- SDL2 input. Basically this means that we will have native support for Switch Pro Controller, Joycons, DS4 and some other controllers. External software like DS4Windows and BetterJoy will no longer be required. This also comes with motion support
- Since we are adding motion for SDL2 input, we are also overhauling motion support for DSU
Roadmap soon
Besides the stuff listed above, we have a bunch of other subprojects within Cemu being actively worked on. Most of them are pretty big, requiring more than half a year of development time. We generally don't like to announce anything too far ahead of time (there can always be unexpected challenges) but we also feel like too many people believe Cemu development is 'complete'. Sharing our plans would help counteract that.
So we decided that we will put a rough roadmap on our website soon. It won't give dates or any kind of ETA, but it will let everyone know what large-scale features we are working on as well as some info on what kind of improvements to expect.
Once the roadmap is up we'll let you know!
