Anbernic RG353PVM AOSP12 Beta #1 (Android 12)

Here's an early Christmas present for all those Anbernic RG353P, RG353V and RG353M users out there!

This brings Android 12 to the RK356X SoC along with the usual goodies all of you have come to expect from my builds by now.

For a detailed list of everything please check the changelog below!

How to install: Download and install 7zip on your system, download all attached files into the same folder, extract the file ending with .001 by right-clicking it and choosing "7-Zip -> Extract Here" and finally open README.txt for further instructions.

For those needing root: Magisk is pre-installed in the boot image and can be activated at any point in time by installing the official Magisk APK.

For those needing Google Apps: Enable Magisk and install the LiteGapps Magisk module.

Anna OldTattoo

How do I find out if mine is v1 or v2?

Anna OldTattoo

DO NOT USE THIS FOR RG353V WITHOUT CONFIRMING WHAT SCREEN VERSION YOU HAVE OR YOU WILL BREAK YOUR ANDROID INSTALL.

Jesse Walsh

Checking in with another black screen RG353V after paying to access this image :(

Jesse Walsh

Love to violate the GPL and get a non functioning OS.

Tristan Smith

From Retro Game Corps, "** Update: Anbernic released a "v2" of the RG353V, with a different screen, which is not compatible with this Android update. If you buy a recent version of this device, it is likely a "v2" unit. **" Please do some research, ppl...

Zhishu Wang

Unfortunately, we have all been scammed

Abdullah Alamri

i forgot to mention, forget using the dual os system if you have a black screen after, i haven't been able to find a fix for android it yet, and its practialy unuseable and im 12-14 hours new into tryina find out why

NK917

for those running into issues like a black screen too you have to flash lynix onto a new sd card then do the same process you did to flash android 12, from there it'll read off the card, and u can get everything back, but you can't press the rest button next to the power button, for some reason it messes everything up. if you do however, go into system resque and rest it, it will make your games playable again

NK917

can u tell me how to re flash stock systems on here please?

NK917

was there a work around? i guess i have the v2 and messing around with it i have a black screen aswell

NK917

I installed it, but my machine is completely broken

상호 이

same, my device is dead.

Khalid .f

for anyone about to download this don't bother get a different cfw

Anders Oliver

Thanks for taking my money and bricking my device dickhead

Anders Oliver

I followed the instructions on for my RG353V but the screen stay black and nothing happens (I only have the SD card with the image on it with Belenaechter on MAC OSX). Could it be flashing the image on the SD card is not working when done on a MAC?

Zak

When I download and unzip them they are ARKOs files... NOT Android 12

Everett Vinzant

Yes, I had the same issue. Made several attempts to flash via Belena on multiple brand new SD cards (SanDisk Ultra) and same result. Reached out to BS directly over a week ago and no response. Very disappointing.

NoogaGoose

So I just wasted $10 to get a non functioning update? I've re flashed to stock and am now running ArkOS just fine

Matt Marino

Could you install custom android? i have a 353v, im guessing that mine is v2 because i had black screen trying to install this rom. Did you got a work arround?

LUIS MORENO

after install how do i get the f button to load the linux from the tf1 slot it seem to not work

Brandon Arnold

thanks bro

Kevin Genocchi

Other RG353M with black screen here, please share original Retro Game Corps version AOSP-12-20221203-UNOFFICIAL-RG353-SDFlash.7z because last version doesn't work. EDIT 17/10/2023: All cleared up, this version of Android only brings support for the screen of the first version of the RG353M. I have tested it with a first generation RG353M (v1), it works correctly on this one, on another "new" RG353M (v2) the black screen problem happens. I guess the problem in the P and V versions is the same. Here's a tutorial on Reddit on how to check which screen version (v1 or v2) you have.

Isra T.G.

if I had a 405 or 552 I’m sure I’d be super happy

Alexander Howse

Please update why I paid you to be fair in wasn’t able to verify to double check quality or status of the android 12 you offering ahead of time.

Alexander Howse

Works good on my rg353p! Screen gestures are way better then on stock rom

tomacaster

i got an error after verifying the image update i havent been able to install it

Miguel Angel

ich möchte es auch gern wissen

Thomas Loehr

geht nicht im einfachen Deutsch

Thomas Loehr

brilliant works perfect. some people should follow the readme file its in plain English if you don't it won't work . THANKS BLACK SERAPH

Michael Jones

I tried to install but it didn't install and bricked the android side, but the linux side still works

Bryson

10$ for nothing... It's not working, just destroying your Andriod...

König Günny

Well Crap!

Michael Troll

Thank you very much for the NON-WORKING project

Inkon

It would be really kind and nice of you to update on this project. Keep my fingers crossed and wish for your prompt reply. :)

淳風 千里

flash the stock android image from anbernic https://win.anbernic.com/download/252.html

theredkoolaid

Just tried to do the upgrade and now have a brick....Black screen... can anyone help me to restore back to original? Anbernic RG353P

Chris Hartwig

how do i get the stock fw again

JOEY

ANYONE KNOW HOW TO FIX THE BLACK SCREEN

JOEY

damn i just got the membership for this and there's a glitch!!!!!!

JOEY

Hi y'all, if you're coming here from Retro Gaming Corps' video (or wherever you heard about this) and you get the black screen, please go back and leave a comment warning others about the glitch before they spend the $10 to get this cfw. So far Black Seraph has not communicated anything about whether there is a fix in the works or if they even know about the problem so it's up to the community to help each other out. Please try to keep it polite and only state facts, BS has done a lot of other things for the community and turning this into a witch hunt will do more harm to the community than good in the long run.

1337P373

Paid 10 Euro for a non Working Image. No response... a shame

Henning Piez

Is this project dead?

theredkoolaid

Same here on RG353V, black screen and image not installing. I used Win32DiskImager and also latest balenaEtcher for flashing the image. Restoring the original Anbernic firmware with the Anbernic tool to flash the image works. Seems I have the wrong version of RG353V :(( I hope for an update to enable both versions.

Tommy Hechtel

I was successfully recovered to Factory Firmware. Going here to download factory firmware. https://win.anbernic.com/download/261.html Flash the image to SD card and follow step similar to this post.

An Hoang

I will try restore the device using Factory firmware. I'll update the status here.

An Hoang

RG353V here. Looks like I have also bricked my device. After flashing the image into SD card and inserting the card into device, I had a blank/black screen, after a while there was still nothing. I then shutdown the device and removed the card. Now the device also had blank/black screen when booting into Android.

An Hoang

Anbernic uses two screens that use two different drivers for the RG353v's (could be others as well, but I only know for sure about the v's) and this cfw only works for one and bricks the other until you reflash the stock firmware.

1337P373

I didn't know people were having issues. It just works for me.

Ehren Loudermilk

RG353m user : If you are affected by the "black screen" syndrome, you must reflash the rom available on the Anbernic site from the software provided in the file: https://win.anbernic.com/download/261.html

Krelian

Not to get this build working but you can reflash the stock fw to get your android side working again

1337P373

Same thing here, do you have a solution ?

Krelian

Check this page: https://www.reddit.com/r/RG353V/comments/13g0em7/how_to_find_out_whether_you_have_the_rg353v_v1_or/

Nicholas J. Constantine

Black screen for 10 dollars...thank you man, you did a great job

Emile6000

stock fw wont flash now either

Sam Ashton

Get the stock fw off the anbernic website and reflash it. You'll be back at square one but at least your device will work again.

1337P373

I would like to know this as well... any update?

Kernel Panic

I was fortunate and was able to purchase a V1 RG353M. But how can you tell the difference between a V1 device and a V2 device *before* you attempt to flash the device?

Mogomra Zero

Has the dev even commented on the v2 issue? Is there even a fix in the works?

1337P373

Bad investment. Took my money to brick my device. Black screen for $10.

Arthur Ferreira

True - disappointing to read this while waiting for my V to arrive, but glad I did before flashing.

Matt Hesketh

Dev is over extending his project count IMO. If he doesn’t have associates ,Too many projects = less/no support. This v2 issue is several months old, meanwhile OTG Gaming has ArkOS tutorial that shows ArkOS team has had a driver patch for v2 at least 4 months ago. I say to all newcomers, DO NOT PAY atm for RG353V/s content. You will be left disappointed, and unheard for months.

Fernando Ramirez

I wasnt able to get it to flash on my end

MrsNesbit

got the same issue, my device is a brick now. I followed this guy's instructions. Now i have a brick. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zYqbACWgKao

Alle Wong

Is this puppy working on the RG353V (v2 screen) yet? Or is it still on the todo list? Not loving the wifi issues on stock. Thanks

Jesse Nash

Super bummed there was no update to content (other then comments) covering v2 incompatability :(

Tom Henck

Did you manage to solve the issue?

Alessandro

I just put the SD card and now my screen is black....what the hell? Did I broke my RG353V?

Alessandro

Doing exactly what you said right now. Really hope this helps me. A youtube of this would get huge hits, considering the lack of support the Dev is proving right now.

Joshua Dunn

Just donated my $10 to brick my new 353v. Fantastic. Wish there was a warning....I must have the "v2" people are commenting on.

Joshua Dunn

no update yet?

Topaz Aryanto

I imaged to SD using Rufus, and I think I bricked the Android side of my RG353V. It was just a black screen and didn't show anything else. It's also difficult to boot from SD card, and takes several attempts to load ArkOS

Adam Long

I am having problems with my RG353M as well--it's all blank screen. Can we have access to the previous versions? They might work instead of this latest one.

Jewelwayne Cain

I imaged an SD card using Balena Etcher, inserted it into my RG353M and then turned on the device, after it installed the update and then asked me to remove the sd card, which I then did, it just gets stuck on the Anbernic Logo. Pls Help

Dylz42

Has anyone figured out how to use the F-key as a home button rather than a mapper? thanks you!

Sailor Dax

well, for me it's working great, the USB-C sound is greatly improved, no more need for the noise P2 sound, other than that I didn't used that much the original Android, so can't say anything, will install playstore and play some games I have purchased, for now, thank you.

dimenfer

This bricked my RG353V

Chimera

Yeah it's pretty disappointing there's no warning at all, or no response here. And I use ArkOS and it's great, but the factory android is slow and bloated. Which is why I paid for this slim version in the first place.

Jarad

V2 does NOT work. arkos is great it has OTA (over the air) updates https://github.com/christianhaitian/arkos/wiki#download-links

Juan Padilla

arkOS works great, remove TFT1/INT to boot into android then reinsert when you see the android logo so you dont lose the card.

Juan Padilla

it seems this dev is content to take our $$ and not issue a fix for the V2 screen

Juan Padilla

Any news on the V2 update? Just ran into the same problem after paying..

Jarad

how does one enable majisk and install google play (update: never mind, and for anyone else worried its an app within the os, just connect to the internet then click on it)

Geo DehSomething

black screen too... on my RG353V

JcCamargo

black screen here too

Derek Jain

So far no issues with lineage on my RG 353M

Christopher Bojanngles

@kamil: dowload original android image from anbernic site, write the image on a microsd card (win32diskimager), then put the microsd in slot1 and boot the rg353. wait 10 minutes.

Gianfranco Calvi

same here - paid 10$ and black screen

Anton Mandl

After making image and try tu update i have black screen. Update dont boot and android dont work. I dont what to do. Can anybody help?

Kamil Dzirba

Add me to the list waiting for a v2 version

Nemiroth

same thing happened to me.

Ricardo Asturias

@Black-Seraph please give us an update for the V2 screen? I know you're focused on the RG35XX right now, but the V2 screen is being sold en masse and I've heard such great things about this project.

Eth3real

I don't have v2 I have v1, installs fine, but you can no longer use Linux, so I went and installed stock firmware with Google play and just registered my device, works great

Michael Snipes

v2 screen strikes again...

Kai

Guys don't download this android version, you won't be able to boot to Linux no more, I had to roll mine back, and I did it another way, now I have stock firmware with Google play registered, and can hit the "FN" button during boot to boot into Linux again, all is well on my rg353v again. Just search on YouTube "how to install stock firmware with Google play" it will be under DroiX and will have Retro Breeze on intro, I wish I wouldn't have wasted 10.00 on this though before I youtubed a free version lol. I hate though not being able to use black-seraphs firmware, but it seems he hasn't found a fix for dual boot or the v2 screen, so had to go another route.

Michael Snipes

can I use this on an RG535VS? I think I've tried every firmware for the 535V but I can't find any Custom Firmware for the RG35VS

Jason Ramirez

I also have a V2 screen :(

Eth3real

just paid and now also hoping for a fix for the v2 screen! appreciate the work you do, but would have loved knowing there was a compatibility issue before paying.

Arya Shahi

same rly wish i knew for sure the latest didnt support V2!! enjoy the $10 your stuff rocks. please help and get that V2 port. cant stand all the other android os's avaiable.

Aaron

play store can i get it?

mateus fedato

bummer, v2 screen as well. enjoy the 10$, would have been nice to see the comments here first. please support v2

Sean

If you have the v2 Screen it doesn’t work

Marcus Beulich

I followed the tutorial but it doesn't work, the screen goes black and the system doesn't download. Could someone help me? note: i used the 256 gb card that came with the rg353v

mateus fedato

Any chance we will see the v2 display driver for the 353v make its way into a build?

Craig Smith

I was so disappointed that my retroarch couldn't run the SD cards Or everything I launched launchbox it crashed?

Catherine Jones

P.S

Catherine Jones

will the RG552 be getting a droid12 update soon? I am stillwondering if my lovely little machine will be able to run the android version of launchbox?

Catherine Jones

WASTE MONEY!!

Huutho88

Working fine here, but anymore updates or is the RG35XX now the focus?

Paul

How do you get the tool to show your sd card?

freyathefearless

Boo.. Seems I have the V2 screen for this as well. I thought I bricked my device! But someone on reddit helped me, if you flash the original OS that Anbernic has on their website (assuming the DL link still works), it comes with the tool needed to flash the OS onto a microSD. Then just plop that back into the RG353V and it'll reinstall the original OS. I'm gonna keep checking back here to see if Black Seraph ever updates this for the V2 screens. Would love to utilize this.

Bryan McHugh

I can’t get the sddisktool to recognize my micro sd card

freyathefearless

I can’t reinstall the stock os on any sd card can someone help me?

freyathefearless

the sd tool isnt showing my sd card as an option

freyathefearless

Could you please explain the problems with the screen v2 in detail?

Marcus Beulich

How can I find out which version of the screen I have ? :)

Ivan Jevtic

Did not see this until just now. If you reflash the original android image to an sd card with SDDiskTool and boot with that, you can re-install android. I had the issue with the new v2 screen and I was able to get it working again with this method.

Christopher Roelofs

If you have a v2 screen do not attempt to install this, it will make it so you have to reinstall linux on a differnt sd card and can not install android again or boot to android at all. if you do attempt this, you will have to either let the battery drain out or disconnect and reconnect the battery.

Lenzer Evans

Just want to throw out some positive vibes...Great alternative Android OS, I have the RG353M (Apparently V1) and everything works great! One thing I will note, I didn't have to download and install Magisk, I just opened the one that is pre-installed and let it do it's thing...Then flashed latest litegapps (2.7) and good to go! Can boot between ArkOS and UnofficialOS just by swapping cards, again as expected. For those having issues, I would confirm you have good media, use proper tools (I've been using USB Image Transfer lately and it's quick and reliable, Etcher is a little buggy), and step through it slowly (Don't just do everything in one session and reboot). An update would be cool, but I get it...Will keep account active a few more months, thanx again for all your hard work!!!

Lee Wiscovitch

I love the os but I am just running into one problem, randomly the device will freeze and restart. Has anyone else had this problem and if so do you know how to fix it?

Landen Anderson

Stuck in a reboot cycle now. Ok well that was worth a shot.

MacMashPotato

Just installed here on mine and it's working fine, I can boot on Linux normally and the android is really faster, so good!

Diego Menezes

Did you ever get this figured out? I got it to work on the gray version but it bricked the white version (which I assume is a V2, I didn't even know there was a V2).

Alex Nahon

Maybe try the SDcardinstaller, there is a version for mac. You can follow this > https://wiki.t-firefly.com/ROC-RK3328-CC/flash_sd.html#sdcard-installer

christophe peretti

Sadly i’m on a Mac, so i can't use the provided card flashing software. I used balena etcher on a formated card, but it didn’t work. I hope i figure out some way of reverting to prior android firmware. I wish more info was provided before committing the payment for this. Also i wish more information was given to guide you through the software itself. Maybe then i could have been convinced to stay. My intended use for this update was to be able to boot into andoid to play psp and ps1 and then use the stock linux for nes, snes and gameboy.. That’s not possible in the current state of Seraphs update. Swithing between linux and android barely works and the androis functionality is buggy (f.i. Some swipe functions doesn’t work..). So.. Yeah.. I know Seraph does this alone, and I appreciate the effort, but to charge people for something this inferior is really bad.. Really regret buying into Retro Game Corps hype and wasting my money..

Paul Näsström

Had the same. Try this. process is same but with the original os. : here is the way in case: First download the original Android OS on anbernic website. For the rg353v it is here: https://win.anbernic.com/download/252.html The android package is here on the Anbernic Google drive: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1Ec11lBONqEeNZ3QFadJlfHg8IyKisdPu/view?usp=share_link You can find other model via this page: https://win.anbernic.com/download/ You can also found the linux OS. An the anbernic remove the game SD card and the OS sd card. Optionnal but recommended to do before: Format your OS sd card: if firmware size is larger than 4g,format into ntfs. In this case any type should work. Let the Game SD card aside. You will re-insert it only when the Os will be rinstalled. Then use the RockChip Tool to prepare the sd with the original android OS, I think the tool came into the zip file with the Firnware when you download it via the anbernic site, it is version 1.69, In case you can download it via this link too, it is the v.1.7. no différences, v1.69 will work fine too. (It is my personnal Google Drive) : https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1rGX-dNVeu6UguAaHmj2VnoJg-WaISUgC?usp=sharing There are some other tools in this share, what you need is named SDDiskTool_v1.7.zip. Downlaod and extract it. After it is very simple: 1- select SD_Firmware_Tool.exe 2- select your SD card 3- Check Upgrade Firmware 4- then click on "Firmware" button to browse the firmware directory. On the firmware folder there is a .img file. name If i remember right: "update.img", select this one. 5- clic on create and wait a bit. Then when it says it is finish, put the SD card on the 1st SD slot on the Anbernic and power it on. Don't press the console to boot on android. Let it boot normally on the SD like if it was booting on the linux os. Then the update must start. it must take 15 minutes around i guess. Let it run and remove the SD card at the end. The console will reboot and finish the process. At this moment you will get a fresh install like when you received it. Hope it will help you.

christophe peretti

I can't even reinstall to stock firmware. It just boots into android.. Please BlackSeraph..

Paul Näsström

And now i can't boot into linux anymore... WTF........

Paul Näsström

My cores does not work on this new android update. Could someone please help me figure out how to get retroarch etc to work as it dit on the stock version?

Paul Näsström

Hi. You can do it like this. process is same but with the original os. : here is the way in case: First download the original Android OS on anbernic website. christophe peretti

How were you able to get back to anbernic original android. I got the black screen as well and it won't let me go back. Please help

Marc Williams

no further updates to this build ?

ALESSIO FRANCHINI

retrododo

David McLeod

I tried to install Black Seraphs update but I ended up with a black screen (I assume this a V2?). I am trying to go back to the stock image, I created the SD card and it completed the installatio but upon restart I am stuck at the Anbernic Logo . I tried clearing the cache and data partition wit no luck .

Ray Salinas

You can rollback if not working. So... Flashing something is never 100% guaranteed and you accept some risks. If you dont feel confident, don't do but maybe it is something you had to thing about before. Most of the time people post a comment when it is not working. Not when it is working. Sometimes it is to help the community. Sometimes it is like the guy above ... 0 explenations.. What doeas mean a corrupted download for him ? Has he understood how it works ? When it is working for hundred people and not for you.. something is different for you ... bring info to help to find what is the problem.. But sometimes the problem is just between keyboard and the chair. :)

christophe peretti

Spent $10 to get this but now afraid to flash it after reading the comments

Sam

my download came corrupted, worst $10 i have spent

Phoenix Villegas

can u add LDAC

Joshua Boylan

Hi I really appreciate your work. Have you ever considered making lineage OS for gaming phones? I am certain someone would donate one to your PO box etc if you did

D

Hi. Thanks for your work. Wanted to share my experience. I tried to install it on my rg353v, but unfortynatly like some others i got the black screen on boot. But it Seems the install is processing. just not showing. So i tested and let the machine works for 40minutes arround. then I removed the SD card as supposed at the end, and the console restarted as supposed too. Then i let anothe 40 minutes to finish the installation. At a moment I pushed one button many times. There was noises. So it let me think it was install, not sure. But still black screen and was never able to get anything. looks like it can be just the recognition of the screen. On my side, no problem to return under the original anbernic android.

christophe peretti

On my sd cards the file does not show up is it possibly located on the actual device and could it be called something else

Loganolo711

you must delete the file then boot normally unfortunately this must be done every time u boot onto the android side hopefully seraph will have a fix for this soon

Matt

this worked thank you my friend, I was very worried for a minute lol

Matt

There's a different screen on newer models, dubbed 353v2.its not called that by Anbernic of course, they barely acknowledge it

Nicholas Horvath

Is anyone running nillerusr's Source Engine on this build? This is my first time playing around with emulators and Android and I found these oobs but I cant get it running. Likely user error but I didnt want to break any rules asking about it on discord.....

Nicholas Horvath

cant unzip file Unexpected end of data??? never mind sorted it

Jamie Stephen

I tried this. It doesn't work. Is there any additional step? I've tried rebooting, turning it off and on, holding function button and tapping the function button. what am i missing?

Kevin Rees

@antonio any help on where to find the stock image?

Kevin Rees

saying you have build 30 but need 31 or something similar? Make sure you are using gapps for Android 12 https://sourceforge.net/projects/litegapps/files/litegapps/arm64/31/core/%5BMAGISK%5DLiteGapps_Core_arm64_12.0_v2.5_official.zip/download

Nicholas Horvath

Wish I could have read the comments prior to subscribing :(. Info around how to revert to Android 11 would be nice.

offgood

Subscribed to test this out on a new RG353V, all I get is a black screen after inserting the SD card and the device will no longer boot with or without the card, just the backlight comes on and nothing shows up on screen. I had to open the device and disconnect the battery to fully reset, after that I had to re-flash with the stock Anbernic Android image. Edit: not sure if it's a regression in your image or a new revision of the RG353V causing it, I do know it has a new screen as evidenced by an issue in the ArkOS github.

techmat

just delete the file called "bootFA" in the ANBERNIC partition of the linux SD, every time you boot into android you need to delete that file

Mvs Srs

Sadly no

Im running into the same issue as well, did you ever resolve this?

nottryingtobeanarc

Hello!! For everyone that cant boot into linux after boot into android, just have to delete a file called "bootFA" inside of the "ANBERNIC" partition, its beside the "uboot.img" file, none of the data is lost, I dont know why this version of android create that file, but once erased everything works normal again, this have to be done everytime you boot into android, just delete that file and that's it

Mvs Srs

Everything works great, but I've run into a small issue where Xbox Game Pass will freeze streaming after a minute or two. Steam Link works perfectly fine, so I don't think it's an issue with my connection itself. I'm just curious if I'm just an edge case or if this is a known issue.

BringZeWubs

I cant boot my games anymore, only boots into Android

Alfredo Chavez

The anbernic android had a feature to rotate the screen into profile. This actually swapped the analog sticks and reoriented them as well. This was really great for drastic. Is there a way to replicate this in this version of android?

Akirakitty

Thank you for your work! I have a question: is it possible to use F button as home button, instead of toggling touchscreen mapper?

skladnayazebra

could not get anything on gamepass to run, whats the trick?

Brandon

I went into app settings, cleared the cache, then the data, and rebooted. This fixed it for me.

Joseph Herrera

Controls are not working with any of the Rockstar games like GTA San Andreas or Bully but I know they do on Android normally?

Steve Thorpe

is there a way to flash back to android 11?

Miguel Alexander

Thanks I did that but for some reason it rebooted into android on its own while charging overnight and I had to do it all over again :/

Jose Obando

Re-flash the stock image to the SD card. If you use F+Power to boot into Android, this will happen. It's better to just remove the SD1 altogether to boot into Android.

Antonio

Seems like my RG353V will only boot from Android now :( any way to fix this? I prefer the stock OS for GBA and using the controller over usb functionality

Jose Obando

Thank You Very Much! You work is greatly appreciated.

D. Matthew Dair

Looking forward to that. I am having a lot of success with the latest AOSP 11 build.

Scott Hornyak

I’m having an issue whenever I try to unzip the file I get a message saying cannot open the file as [7z] archive Unexpected end of data Any help is appreciated

Ace G

That sounds more like an emulator or frontend issue and not Android it self. Try downgrading to older version or contacting frontent dev\emulator dev.

Farfenkugell

Having a small issue. When trying to open a game on daijisho for m64 plus FZ, it will no longer open. It will go into the m64Fz menu and only show the last game played. I can still open the game in the M64fz menu, but then that defeats the purpose of using a frontend. Is there fix for this? Do I have to wait for an update and have to pay again?

Dayla

Absolutely love the performance! However, is anyone else having an issue with haptics and vibration? There doesn’t seem to be any way to get it to work.

Lincoln

I found that shutting down the device, allowing it to boot into linux, shutting it down again and then booting into android fixed the problem for me. I don't know exactly what the sequence is that fixed it or if it just required a few reboots but I was getting the same pop up repeatedly and now it's been 100% fine.

Kevin Thurber

Great work! The perfomance on dreamcast are dramatically lower than ARKOS(i mean, it's the first beta, i guess it's pretty normal), but the rom is really 🔥!

Federico Mele

Hello, is it reversible?

GiEffeTi

hello i followed the instruction on how to install gapps, and installed the playstore successfully..however it promptgs that the google playstore is not compatible with my device. what to do?

Cha Ya

Can anyone get the analogs working in GTA San Andreas?? Can't even use the touchscreen mapping

DJ BROTHERSON

On the flip side, for folks mainly interested in Android, it is worth noting that while booted into this Android build you can actually see TF1! I have both a 500GB and 400GB card installed in mine now, with games on both.

Preston Griffith

Right, but all it takes is one time for you to forget to remove it or inadvertently turn it on with the card in TF1.

Nicky Santoro

Will it be possible to run the display at 120hz with BFI? This could bring it down to an effective 60hz with zero motion blur.

Daniel

I'm already in the habit of removing TF1 as I run Jelos, so this doesn't affect me. I haven't installed yet, but thanks for pointing this out.

Sean Ong

I think the idea was that in order to load Android, you'd have to pop your Linux SD card out, however with the stock Linux firmware this is not necessary. So if I hit Func + PWR to boot to Android, the Linux install becomes corrupt and won't boot again.

Nicky Santoro

Its confirmed on my end. Initially I thought it was just a fluke, but nope. Linux will run fine so long as you don't ever boot Android. As soon as you do, the device will no longer boot to Linux.

Nicky Santoro

Is this confirmed or known issue? That would be terrible. It seems that i have to wait for a fixed version.

Jeremy Haas

Hi, as previously stated, this Aos install kills your Linux install as soon as you put your Linux SD card back in the TF1 slot, it will run once after a fresh install, but as soon as you boot into android, Linux will no longer boot from TF1. Could you please look into this?

Nicky Santoro

Awesome! Other than this little issue, everything is awesome in your build! Thank you so much!

Antonio

Thanks for pointing it out. The gamepad driver is something I'm more or less continuously working on. GTA SA is already on my test candidate list along with Dead Cells (which sometimes picks up on the gamepad and sometimes doesn't for some reason).

Black-Seraph

Will bake that in for the next build. Thanks for pointing it out.

Black-Seraph

There will be.

Black-Seraph

Hi, nice work on Android 12 ! Seems the panel refresh rate is still using weird 124Hz Original timing was 640 + 40 +2 + 80 = 762 480 + 18 + 2 + 28 = 528 762 * 528 = 402336 50000000 / 402336 = 124.2742384474668 Please have a look on my github page and consider apply my patch on github : https://github.com/tonyjih/rk356x-kernel/blob/main/arch/arm64/boot/dts/rockchip/rk3568-evb-rg353p.dtsi Thanks !

Tony

Hello! I have noticed that some games like GTA San Andreas don't recognize the analog sticks, which worked no problem with the stock firmware. Is there a solution for this? Thanks!

Antonio

Will there be a Android 12 release for the RG552? Thank You!

D. Matthew Dair

Black, do you know if this install affects boot order? I can no longer seem to get Linux to boot off the SD card in TF1/INT. I had to flash a new linux image onto my linux SD card and it booted up just fine and rebooted and everything. But as soon as I boot into Android, it is no longer possible to boot from the linux card in TF1.

Nicky Santoro

Huge performance boost! Aos feels very snappy and smooth. Dreamcast games that used to stutter in Flycast apk now run smoothly.

Nicky Santoro

Glad to hear everything's working fine! You're welcome!

Black-Seraph

Amazing work! Just installed it, it's working great so far! Thank you so much!

Antonio

Soon my friend 😎😎

Belchine

Ahh gotcha.

Megabyte

It's more of a sourcing problem than anything else. I can't get my hands on one.

Black-Seraph

Wish I had this device just to try this! Anyways, thanks for all your work in the community. Do you happen to have an Odin? Any work there or is that time long past now? Magisk... that's a killer feature! I rooted my Odin but you know how it is with updates etc.
