"State of the Wiki" for May 2015
Added 2015-06-04 12:18:25 +0000 UTCAnother month has passed, and our Patreon donations have increased by more than $50 in the last month thanks to all your kindness. It's greatly appreciated, and we're getting progressively closer to our first Milestone.
Thanks to a post in /r/pcmasterrace on May 1, we broke our previous daily pageview record with 119,240 pageviews in one day. Best of all, we managed to keep the site up for the duration of the traffic spike. The day prior, on April 31, we also had a heavy surge with just under 94,000 pageviews. This compared to regular weekday traffic, which averages between 45,000 and 55,000 pageviews per day.
Our admins Nicereddy and Soeb have been hard at work polishing the upcoming wiki redesign, we look forward to showing it to you all in the near future. No definite release date has been set, but right now the two things we're waiting on are upgrading to the latest MediaWiki stable release and the completion of the home page, which has been remade from the ground up to load much faster and provide easier access to our most popular pages. Åfter that, we'll mostly just have minor bugs to squash. We'll be sure to update you all when we're ready to reveal it!
