Weekly Standup 46
Added 2021-11-29 10:15:40 +0000 UTCWelp, I got the cast off, but my fifth metacarpal is still broken. When typing, I can use just about my whole hand except for my right pinky just fine, but drawing is still really difficult. Docs said I should keep the cast on for longer, but I don't want to delay work anymore.
Anyway, onward with the standup.

TL;DR:
Things I got done this week: I've finished the 2nd of 3 drafts I do for my writing for everything except the climactic scene of v.0.12. Only on Friday did everything really start to coalesce into a whole I was happy with, I ended up cutting a massive amount of uninteresting text from what I had at that point. I also did some minor programming and spent a day trying to get back up to speed with illustrating (which I did not entirely succeed in)
Things I want to get done next week: Illustrating! I dunno how much I'll get done. I think I'll delay the 2nd draft of that climactic scene I mentioned until I have an idea of what the illustrations for it are going to look like.

Day-by-day breakdown (finally, again!):
- Monday: Day off
- Tuesday: Writing. I continued fleshing out a big block of story content, but I wasn't sure how I would organize it into scenes.
- Wednesday: Programming/UI stuff. Took a break from writing, mostly, rather than doing anything critically important. I implemented some extra stuff for quest descriptions (the implementation of which has been very barebones) and I worked on an outfit UI for Ari.
- Thursday: Art practice. I spent the entire day coming to grips with drawing in a way where I avoid using my wrist and resting my hand on the tablet. It... kinda sucked but I guess it can only get better now.
- Friday: Writing. At the start of the day I had no idea how I was going to organize the story stuff I had written into a cohesive set of scenes, by the end of the day I had things pretty much figured out.
- Saturday: Writing. Finished up the 2nd draft of every scene except one.
- Sunday: Day off. Hungover af.

Ari's outfit changes are basically functional now (though that UI needs work).
v.0.11 leaves the ♥ path and v.0.12 leaves the ⛓ path in a state that is perfect for introducing the outfit mechanic in v.0.13, but I'd like to have it in v.0.12 already. if so, I would implement it as more of a "hey u finished the story, we're unlocking this one mechanic" than anything actually in the story.
