Monster Girl Farmer v0.36.00 released!

Hello! I hope you're all doing well. In this case, I think the official change log does a pretty good job of explaining this release:

Please be aware, if you supported the previous version of the game, the access code has NOT changed. That means you gain access to this version if you supported the previous version.

THIRTY-THREE new images of these monster girls were added to the game: 1 Chipmunk girl, 1 Doe girl, 1 Mushroom girl, 9 Dog girls, 1 Ghost girl, 5 Cherry tree girls, 1 Leech girl, 2 Bat girls, 1 Golem girl, 2 Harpy girls, 6 REDACTED, 2 Slime girls, 1 image with a plant, bunny, and slime girl

Major edits were made to Olivia the Harpy's egg laying scene and Sophie the REDACTED scene. These edits were major additions to the lewd aspects of the scene's details, but did not change the structure of the scenes.

You can play the latest version or download it.

Next, I plan on adding a new lewd scene to the game. Keep and I out for it soon! It'll be in the next major release.

Monster Girl Farmer v0.35.02 released!

Hi everyone! Long time no see. First, I want everyone to know the access code for this release is the same as the previous release.

Second, I want to apologize for how long it's taken me to get from v0.34 to v0.35, and for the lack of news along the way. For what it's worth, I was actively developing the whole time, giving updates in my chat room, but I should've taken more time to share updates here, too.

This release revamped the "Replay Scenes" feature, which seemed daunting at first, but I had no idea what I was getting into. It was literally the most technically challenging thing I've ever developed, and I say that as a professional developer with over a decade of experience.

In the past, you could only replay some character's scenes, and only a subset of those scenes. That limitation no longer exists: you can replay all scenes the game has to offer, as many times as you want. You can even replay them with different body types; experience branch, even mutually exclusive ones; and return to the real game at any time.

As a side effect, cheats that teleport you to a scene have been greatly simplified. Before, you had to enter strange symbols into the address bar, and you had to remember not to overwrite your save, otherwise you'd be stuck in that scene forever. None of this was user-friendly.

Now, with cheats enabled, you can unlock all scenes with the click of a button (in the Journal tab), and jump to any scene you want with a UI that guides you and prevents you from overwriting saves:

I hope you like this new feature! Once again, thanks for your patience. I worked really hard on this.

Any feedback would be appreciated, and I know this won't instill confidence, but please report any bugs you may find. I tested every scenario I could think of, but mistakes happen.

What's next? I have a long backlog of images to share here and add to the game. After that, I'll be adding new scenes to the game.

Update: still working my butt off on the replay feature.

Hello all! I've been working really hard on this replay feature, and it's quite the technical challenge. I think it will be some weeks before I complete it. When it is released, it'll use the same access code as last month.

I try to swing the pendulum between features and content, and the last couple of months have been all on the feature side. Therefore, the next couple of months will all be on the content side. My fingers (all 11 of them) get a little itchy when I haven't written in a while, so I'm looking forward to writing some lewd content soon.

This replay feature is by far the most complex endeavour I've taken in this code base. In most code bases, really. It's the type of thing I'll be bragging about when it's over. Thanks for your patience.

Monster Girl Farmer v0.34.00 released!

Play the latest version here!

Download the latest version here!

Just wanted to let everybody know I released the first half of v0.34.00: a new save/load dialog. I made a little GIF of it here:

The second half of the release--which will use the same access code as the first--will include the new "Replay Scene" feature, allowing you to replay scenes of the random monster girls you find in the forest. The current feature only lets you replay scenes from the main cast.

After that I'm going to add some new content as I'm itching to write.

This release added three new images of Estelle the raccoon girl and a handful of other improvements you can find in the changelog here: https://link.monstergirlfarmer.com/change_log

I wanted to release this earlier in the week but my dog got sick (he's 90% better now, but it was looking pretty grim there) and my hard drive died(-ish): I can still use my computer, but once or twice a day random programs lock up the entire computer, requiring me to hold the power button down until it restarts.

The good news is my new hard drive has arrived. In a few days I'll spend the time to install it and the programs I need to be productive. But before that... I better click the publish button on this post before my computer crashes and I have to rewrite the whole thing ;)

Enjoy!

Expect the new release next week!

Hello all! Apologies for the radio silence. I had family visit then went on a trip so I've been pretty busy, crunching my butt off so hard every time I sit it sounds like I stepped on a dry leaf.

For very technical reasons (I'm happy to go over them if anybody's interested), I need to revamp the save/load dialog to allow players to replay every scene.

Unfortunately, editing the save/load dialog wasn't as easy to do as I hoped. I needed to do something that my game engine doesn't support: show two open dialogs at the same time.

And, I mean, heh, how hard could that be? This video documents my journey:

Yeah... So next week I'll be releasing a shiny new save/load dialog and a shiny new image of Estelle the raccoon girl but, initially, it'll ship with the shiny old replay feature. Soon after, the new replay feature will be included as a free patch.

Oh, and Teta is working on the next image, the most ambitious one yet: it's when you visit the monster girl village in the forest. It'll be very lewd and it'll include three monster girls, including a slime girl!

I hope you're all doing great. Have a great week!

MGF v0.33.00 Released! Two new pics and a snazzy new gallery for your viewing pleasure

Hello all!

I'm excited to release v0.33.00. As the title says, it has two new pictures and a new image gallery. The game also has a new 500 word addition to Lisa the Leech Girl's lewd scene. You can read all about it in detail in the changelog.

When I started this release I intended to work on in-game cheats next (they currently exist external to the game on this patreon page), but once I got started, I realized the experience of working on the gallery would prepare me for working on the in-game cheats. At face value that may not make sense, but they are both menu items with state that could exist external to save data.

Another good reason to work on the gallery is cheats already exist (albeit in a clunky way), but the game doesn't even have a poor man's version of an image gallery. Not to mention, the survey responses have requested it just as many times (if not more) than the in-game cheats.

Suffice it to say, I'll be working on in-game cheats next, and after that, I'll be adding more character content. I hope you like the new images and the new image gallery! Let me know what you think.

MGF v0.32.00 Released! 'uge performance boost!

Play the latest version here!

Download the latest version here!

Hello all! Check out the new version. I don't love to hear if you notice a performance difference because, as I said in my previous post, I've seen a 10x improvement.

If you want to read the full changelog, so you can do so here: https://link.monstergirlfarmer.com/change_log

If it were easy, I'd apply this fix to every existing version so nobody had to experience performance issues, but alas, that would be weeks of effort. But I did the next best thing I could think of: v0.32.00 uses the same access code as v0.31.xx. That means if you supported me last month but not this month, you can experience this performance improvement, too.

Next release I'm going to add a sort of "scene gallery" that allows you to replay all monster girl scenes, including the one from random monster girls discover in the forest. This is an oft asked for feature, and from a developer perspective it kills at least two birds with one stone. At least the way I'm thinking of implementing it:

This image illustrates a couple of things. First, I'm not a designer. Second, clicking on this link will open a page/window allowing you to visit any scene in the game. And for convenience, you should be able to replay is scene with, for example, different genitals than your current main character.

From a technical perspective, this won't be easy: some scenes change the course of the game. Imagine viewing the forest introduction before Eva has a leash; that shouldn't be possible. Hypothetically, that scene could try to use the non-existent leash and crash. Every scene has the potential for this kind of problem.

Therefore, I'm thinking anything you play or replay as a cheat will have no effect on your save. It'll be like you're playing in an alternate universe.

Anyway, I hope you really enjoy this release and the performance boost improves your gameplay experience!

Massive performance boost coming soon!

Hi all! Thank you for your patience as I work on a major performance bug: the size of the inventory grows as you add and remove items. I intentionally built it this way for complex quests that checked things like, "Have you sold three carrots?" and, "Have you given Eva dog food 5 times?" I figured, since "I know" I'll want these quests some day, I should architect the inventory so it can answer these questions.

The problem is, as your inventory changes, the history grows and grows, eventually slowing down the game every time you change a passage.

I didn't think this would be difficult to fix -- actually, the fix is quite simple: instead of keeping track of who owns what and when, just store the amount the main character has. And if I ever need to have a quest like those described above, create specific code for that.

Simple.

Except when you want to make previous saves backwards compatible... Since my last Patreon post, I've spent a lot of time ensuring old saves work on the latest version.

This is nothing new: I do this for every release. But little did I know, this time I would end up tackling the most complex concepts in my programming language (TypeScript)... literally all of them... all at once.

Anyway, it's going to be worth it! Obviously, the game will perform better on all devices, but there's more. I discovered other backward compatibility bugs along the way. And when this is done, it'll be easier to write backwards compatible saves in the future. That will provide time savings between releases, as backwards compatible saves often take the most effort.

Have a great day, everyone!

MGF v0.31.01 Released! Check out the new UI

Hello! First of all, I want to thank you all for your patience. The entire UI has been restyled according to my designer’s mock-ups! The game has an entirely new look and feel. If you’ve played it before, you may not recognize it. And if you’ve considered playing it in the past, now’s the perfect time.

This was a huge effort, far beyond what I originally imagined. I’ve restyled lots of websites in the past, but it’s never been as challenging as this: to pull this off I had to change over 8000 lines of code.

Although I’d say the UI looks a gajillion times better, I still consider this a first pass. There’ll be many more in the future, so stay tuned! You can see what else has changed in this release by reading the changelog.

The next release will include a new picture of the snake girl, performance improvements, and more! Enjoy!

Mobile Layout (Work in Progress)

I thought it would be done releasing a first pass of these new layouts before March. Boy was I wrong: what I didn't anticipate was the technical challenge. I know CSS well enough, but that's not what I mean. This is the mockup my designer gave me:

See how the buttons are in a separate box from the text (beige background)? Well, I saw two ways to do that:

  • Find every button in the game and modify it to put it in a group, then remember to the same thing every time I write content in the future.
  • Find a way to automate the process so I don't have to think about wrapping buttons in code when I write content.

I chose the latter, and while I stand by it being the right decision, it took a lot of time and effort.

I'm crossing my fingers, but I think it's all downhill from here. This new layout (with improvements) should be released in a few days. Thanks for your patience!

Hello all! Just wanted to quickly announce that I have released a new version of Monster Girl Farmer. Check the changelog for notes, but this is a good summary of the new scene:

It involves Sophie the Centaur; it’s titled, “Mmm, donut”; and it has nothing to do with baking.

Tomorrow, I'll be adding a $5 cheat that lets you jump right to it.

Unfortunately, I wasn't able to get to UI improvements yet, but those will be coming soon in a free patch. Keep an eye out, because the game will look way better.

Enjoy!

Snake Girl appearance poll results, and what's next

Hello all! Here are the results of the last poll:

I want the snake girl to be a furry/scalie with a snout: 96
I want the snake girl to be a monster girl: 159

This includes everyone, but not everyone wanted the snake girl to be next. Well, the majority that wanted the snake girl also wanted her to be a monster girl:

I want the snake girl to be a furry/scalie with a snout: 21
I want the snake girl to be a monster girl: 29

In conclusion, the snake girl will be a monster girl. Thank you for taking the time to vote.

The next major release is planned for the 10th of Feb. This will include UI improvements and a new Sophie the Centaur scene. As a huntress, she usually brings back raw meat, but here, she'll run a little experiment as a baker, and you'll have an opportunity to try her donut. To those who interpreted this literally, let me be the first to say, "You sweet summer child," and you may want to sit this scene out. But don't worry: like all the lewd scenes in the game, you'll be given ample opportunities to avoid it if it's not for you.

Hope you're all doing great! I'll be posting again soon.

Poll: Follow-up poll re: snake girl appearance. (Included her description)

TL;DR: Do you want the snake girl to be a furry/scalie with a snout (as described) or a monster girl? Select both to tell me if you have no preference.

Here's excerpts of her description in the scene:

It is a snake girl. The humanoid form becomes unmistakable the longer you look, glossy brown scales cascading over thin, shapely arms, slight breasts, a finely tapered waist. She has no legs, just hips that melt into the long tail that's currently strangling the air out of you.
...her eyes which are reddish-brown, round, and glaring over a delicate, pointed snout.
She turns her head toward you, cupping a hand around a dark hole in the side of her head.
A long forked tongue flicks out of her mouth, flutters, then withdraws.
You can tell now why you didn't see her before; the scales on her back are a lighter, dappled brown, blending with the foliage that gives way to the river earth.
She blinks. It's a weird motion, a horizontal flicker of something white across her eyes.

The summarize, the furry/scalie option has scales all over her body and face, and she has a pointed snout. She has arms, but a snake lower body.

The monster girl version would have a human torso with a snake lower body.

_________________________________________________________

The results of this poll will determine the kinds of character designs shown exclusively to $10 pledges. The $10 pledges will then choose one to be her actual appearance.

99% chance the rest of this post is overthinking everything, so feel free to ignore what's below:

I wish I didn't have to give this poll in the first place (or that the site had some sort of tool to make this easier). Here's my predicament: The snake girl won the previous poll, but I don't know why. Is it because snake girls are cool? Is it because she's a furry/scalie? Do the people that voted for her remember she's described as furry/scalie? Heck, I don't even know they have read the scene. Maybe everyone assumed they were choosing a monster girl.

I'm betting most people that voted for her the first time envisioned the answer to this poll, and I don't want to accidentally disappoint those people by making the wrong choice here.

The poll in this post is open to the public because the feedback would be valuable to me, but I am aware of an outcome that could disappoint the original voters again, and this is a scenario I'd like to avoid: what if the people that voted for her the first time want her to be furry/scalie, but the majority of people that vote this time want the snake girl to be a monster girl? It may not turn out that way, but if it does, here's how I plan to address it:

I will weight the original snake girl voters higher in this poll than other voters in this poll. For example, if you wanted a snake girl in the original poll, in this poll, your vote will be counted multiple times.

Depending on the outcome, I may not even need to do this, but I wanted to say it in advance for transparency, and to let you know I'm attempting to be fair. If I've fallen short in that regard, let me know!

Poll: So, which monster girl do you want drawn next?

Your choices are in the poll and you can pick more than one. If you want a refresher on who's who, let me know in a comment and I will add more detail.

Monster Girl Farmer v0.30.00 released!

Hello all!

Apologies for being a few hours late with this release. In one of my earlier posts I said there would be a bunch of lewd random exploration scenes added to v0.30.00. Well, that was my intent, but I got carried away with the first scene I edited. Rather than a quick nameless character, it expanded into a whole optional girl scene. She's still a nameless character, but here content is as large as I planned for all the other exploration scenes combined. Hopefully that makes up for the change in direction.

It's a pretty unique, at least for me. She's a massive pine tree girl. Without going into too much lewd detail, let's just say... at her size, you can fit inside her. Fun, right?

I worked on other features too, which you can read about in the changelog. Tomorrow I'll be releasing some new colored sketches of the ghost girl and will have some news on what's next very soon.

Enjoy!

Hello all! This little patch adds background images, one per map region. Actually there is one exception: I spent hours looking for a suitable free image to use for inside the house, and I couldn't find any. In the end, I decided to reuse the one I'm already using for the field.

I have a lot planned with regards to the look and feel of the game, so the way this looks now shouldn’t last long.

I hope you all enjoy this feature. If not, please let me know: I can make it something you could turn off in the settings. Happy new year everyone!

Monster Girl Farmer v0.29.00 released! (Uses v0.28.xx access code)

Hello all!

The first thing you should know about this release is it uses the same access code as v0.28.xx. It contains a bug fix and adds the image of Olivia the Harpy girl to the game. Four days have passed since v0.28.00 was released, so this version number is mostly symbolic.

The next minor release, v0.29.01 will include a very noticeable change: background images! Like all minor releases, it'll use the same access code as this release (which means it's the same access code as v0.28.xx, too).

Next month, new random exploration scenes will be added to the game. Unlike the typical random exploration scenes, these ones will be lewd in nature. It'll include a Heron girl and an Ent girl, to name a few. I also plan to make the game look more like the mock ups:

Monster Girl Farmer v0.28.01 released!

Hello all! I released v0.28.01 last night, but I decided to schedule this post in the future because I didn't want to wake you all in the middle of the night with an email ding. As a reminder, you can use the same v0.28.00 access code with v0.28.01 because it's a free patch.

Here are the changes, which you can also read in the official changelog:

Characters:

- There was a disabled link in the scene where you return to Lisa the leech girl named, “Since you're offering, sure.” This link is no longer disabled. You get to it by asking Lisa how her milk tastes, and if you click this link, it takes you down a path where you get to taste it yourself!

- Color coding added to the dialogue in Lisa's scenes

Features:

- $5 tiers and above can access cheats that jump you directly to Lisa’s scenes: https://link.monstergirlfarmer.com/cheats

Bug Fixes:

- In the last changelog I described how to get to a scene most people would likely miss. Yeah, the thing about that is, it had a bug so it wouldn’t work if you followed my instructions. This bug has been fixed so now it unlocks when it should (SPOILER: by bringing Eva when you return to Lisa).

Enjoy!

Hello all! I hope you'll forgive me because I'm a little late, at least in my time zone (it's 2:00am here, and I wanted to get this out the door at least 2 hours ago). This Lisa the Leech Girl scene turned out to be more complex than I thought. Like the Chipmunk Girl scene, it got so complex I couldn't fit it in my brain so I had to create a visual guide:

(Here's a link that'll take you to a version you can zoom.)

There are three things I didn't have enough time to do, but I'm hoping to release these as a patch tomorrow or the next day:

  • See that box in the middle with a red outline? That's a part of the lewd scene I couldn't get to in time.
  • I didn't color code the dialogue yet. This was semi-strategic because it makes scenes more difficult to edit, and I know I'll be editing that red box.
  • I haven't created cheats to jump directly to the new Lisa scenes.

What I've typed here doesn't really give you a sense of the latest content. For that, I recommend reading the changelog or, ya know, playing the game. Thanks for your patience! I hope you like Lisa!

Here's your v0.28.00 access code!

Here's the v0.28.00 access code:

293c3068-c73c-48bc-af15-c8bbe3e6871e

While I haven't officially released v0.28.00 yet, I wanted to post the access code it will use once it is released. It's my understanding that every post is sent to you via email, and since I'm posting this today, you'll be able to read it in the future. That means, if you stop your pledge, you'll still be able to see this code. (I feel like I'm making this more complicated than it needs to be. Let me know if I'm not making sense.)

So when will v0.28.00 be out? As soon as today, depending on your preference:

The current scene has some choices that lead to dead ends, and unfortunately, I don't think I'll be able to flesh them all out (in a way that lives up to my standards) by EOD today. But I do think I'll be able to complete the scene by EOD tomorrow. So the question is, do you have a preference for either of these:

  • I could release the incomplete scene today, and I could release the rest of it tomorrow as v0.28.01.
  • I could release the completed scene in one go. That is, I could wait until the whole thing is done before releasing.

Thanks!

New MGF coming out in a few days!

Hi all! I hope you're doing great. I wanted to let you know that the next version of Monster Girl Farmer will come out in a few days. This release includes Lisa the Leech Girl (if you have suggestions for a different name, I'm open to them), and a new mini-exploration scene I just wrapped up. I'll talk about that in the next paragraph, but note, it contains spoilers to the Lisa scene.

Spoilers Spoilers Spoilers Spoilers Spoilers Spoilers Spoilers Spoilers Spoilers

Spoilers Spoilers Spoilers Spoilers Spoilers Spoilers Spoilers Spoilers Spoilers

Okay, well first off, it makes sense to me to have Lisa to appear in the primeval forest region, but that location isn't accessible in the demo. I want all the feedback I can get, so I decided to temporarily place her in the "a little creek" area, but I'll be moving her to the primeval forest in the release after next.

Her scene will start by you getting bit by a venomous snake. You pass out near a body of water, and wake up to her sucking the MC's blood.

For those unaware (I was one of these people before I did my research) some snakes have blood coagulating properties in their venom, and some leeches have blood thinning properties in their saliva. A-ha! So, without any further research, I concluded leech spit is the antidote to snake bites (note: not a doctor).

Using this ironclad logic (note: not a philosopher), Lisa unintentionally saves your life.

But I got to thinking, leeches are probably shy because it's in their best interest to avoid detection (note: not a zoologist). If you have Eva with you, she'd probably scare Lisa off. Therefore, you should only be able to meet Lisa if you don't bring Eva with you.

Sooo, I decided to write a different scene if you do bring Eva with you. In this one, she protects you from snakes so you don't get bitten in the first place. Originally, it was meant as a clue to come back without her, but it kind of sends the opposite message. Well, at least it's consistent with the game logic, plus I like it, so I decided to keep it in.

In summary, the next release will also contain a scene where Eva protects you from snakes in the primeval forest.

I hope you enjoy them both!

Here's what's coming soon!

Sometime around the 10th I'll be making a major release that'll add a new character: Lisa the Leech. Her lower body is a leech, but up top, she's all woman. Black hair; pale skin; huge, natural boobs; and she lactates!

My artist is working on a new image of Olivia (the harpy girl), but I don't know if it'll make it into the game in time. Maybe it's bad to admit this, but Olivia is my favorite character (or at least top three), so I'm really looking forward to seeing her, and I hope you are too!

Now let's shift to what I'm currently working on: styled buttons.

Note: The next paragraph may bore you. Feel free to skip it.

If you had asked me before I started, I would've guessed it would take 2 days max to style the buttons. Never would've I anticipated working 10 days on it. How hard can it be? Well, it turns out pretty hard, especially if I want the buttons to be "responsive." "Responsive" means it should grow and shrink depending on the size of your device. Pulling that off required a deep dive into learning low-level intricacies of Scalable Vector Graphics (AKA, SVGs). Long story short, I learned so much, I can probably give a talk on the topic of scaling vector art. Hell, I could give an even longer talk on how not to do it, because I spent a lot of time hitting dead ends, starting back at the beginning, and coming up with alternative approaches.

These buttons look great in general, but there are some edge cases that need special attention. Specifically the buttons on the map, as they are color-coded in meaningful ways.

When I'm done with the buttons, I'll release it as a minor patch, meaning it'll be accessible to anybody who owns last months release even if you don't own this month's.

If I have any free time after writing the leech girl scene, I'll work on more UI improvements.

Hope you're all doing great! Reach out at any time.

Monster Girl Farmer v0.27.00 released!

Play the latest version here!

Download the latest version here!

Hi all! I'm excited to announce this new major release. Man, I think it's been over six months since there's been a major one. I felt a teeny bit short of my goals: while I wanted to have some UI improvements in this release, I have received a bunch of useful Figma files and many, many mockups from my UI designer. I plan to show those off soon.

I plan to upgrade some of the look and feel in a patch release some days from now, and even more improvements in the next release.

As for what's in this one, I think I'll paste the contents of the changelog, otherwise I just be typing the same thing:

Random Scene/Quests:

- Over 40 random exploration scenes have been added to the game: some simple, some complex, some sexy, some weird, some… thing for everyone! They were written by Lope and edited by me. You can find his website here: https://lopewriting.carrd.co/

- There used to be a scene where you could pull on a turnip stuck in the ground. It used to show up anywhere, but now you can only find it at the forest entrance. Also, new content has been added to it. Keep tuggin', and you’ll see.

Characters:

- Added a new image of Eva blushing when you give her her collar.

Features:

- Use a smaller sized picture on the first page so it loads faster

Bug Fixes:

- Regardless of your gender, there were parts of the golem girl's introduction that used male pronouns.

Technical Details:

- Wrote a wiki page for contributing authors explaining how to write scenes for a customizable main character

Hello all! I'm so far behind in reading survey results, but I've already spotted one of many themes to the feedback: seeing the same snippets every time you unsuccessfully explore an area. For this reason, I decided to commission around 40 new ones, ranging from a few sentences to complex scenes that play out over multiple visits.

As mentioned, I also plan to improve the game UI and add that latest Eva image to the game. I have lots of screenshots of the proposed UI, but I'm hesitant to post them at this time, because some of the art is placeholder. But, I think in a few days I'll have actionable—in the sense that I can use them to change the look of the actual game —mockups, and I can share these mockups with you all.

Hope you're all doing great!

What character do you want drawn next?

Here are your choices. After each, I'll leave a brief(-ish) physical description of them to help you can visualize the characters you're choosing. These descriptions are unrelated to the scene that will be drawn; that'll be decided later.

Note that these physical descriptions contain spoilers.

The Ghost Girl

You drop $7  in coins down the well all at once. Some of the money clinks against  the stone walls on its way down, but other than that — silence.

As you make a wish, a subtle scratching noise emanates from below. Inching closer, you peek over the edge. The noise stops.

There's nothing there. A pit of darkness. But... a faint outline  catches your eye. The hairs on the back of your neck stand on end. For  seconds, you squint at the shape, unsure if it's even there.

It moves.

Jerky, insect-like spurts of activity — skittering closer. Weak and  frozen in place, your heart thumps as the entity emerges from the  shadows. Or rather, two entities: a pair of skinny butt cheeks.

You double take. It's a pale woman, hugging the wall. Her tattered  nightie hangs over her head as she climbs toward you, ass-first.

As a mud-encrusted leg arises from the abyss, you back up, tripping on a  rock. Without so much as a grunt, her body thumps on the grass, twisted  in ways a contortionist could only dream of. She stands up like a  puppeteer pulled her strings.

The Doe Girl

A Doe Girl is laying splayed out on the ground, breathing heavily. As you approach, you can only see the general outline of her humanoid torso, because she appears to have taken a spill headlong into a tangled shrub, a shrub as tall as you are.

The Doe Girl's lower half, slender and deer-like, has four legs that occasionally flail for traction. You stand out of kicking range. It must've been her tail you first noticed, white underside flashing in alarm as she fled.

...

What looked from afar like one shrub turns out to be a tangle of at least three different plants, all twisted up in a bushy, viney knot. The dense branches obscured your view of what's happening, but as you lean in, you discover a rope-like vine snared around the shoulder and neck of a panting, wide-eyed, monster girl. She's supermodel-slender.

With just inches separating your face from hers, you can feel her breath on your cheek. Her eyes are like giant pools.

... wavy auburn hair.

The Harpy Girl (Olivia)

The monster girl's  limbs are a mixture of human and avian traits: arms  and hands fused to hawk wings; fair-skinned thighs blending into orange  talons.

...

In an obnoxious display of confidence, she sneers and tosses her tomboyish blonde hair to the side.

...

She's  taller and skinnier than you remember, though that's not surprising:  this is the first time you've gotten a good look at her from the front.  She's wearing an unzipped green pilot's jacket with nothing underneath.  It shows off her skinny tummy and the cleavage ... Below that, she's wearing denim cutoffs. They're so short the  pockets stick out underneath.

The Golem Girl (Mivennah)

Amid the overgrown fauna is a conspicuously raised platform of stone shaped like a bed. Just like everything else in your surroundings, it has been reclaimed by nature, but the overgrowth isn't what catches your eye.

Laying across it horizontally is what appears to be a young girl, sleeping peacefully like a princess from a fairy tale. The only clothing on her otherwise nude body is a pair of uncomfortable-looking gauntlets and boots fashioned from yellowish stone.

These accessories of hers are cracked, chipped, and covered in moss which suggests that this girl has been here longer than you can imagine. You aren't sure how it would be possible to power nap for so long that you literally become part of the scenery, but you're fairly sure the answer involves the words "monster girl."

Curious as ever, and totally not because you want a better view of her boobs, you approach the platform. She doesn't stir as you hover over her, nor does she breathe.

Every inch of her skin is tanned from top to bottom, the pink nipples on her budding breasts and her exposed slit being the only exceptions. Long, dirty blonde hair trails down past her butt, drawing your eyes to her slender curves. She is petite, and would only reach your chest if she were standing.

What sucks in your interest more than anything else about her is a dull, red gem the size of your fist which juts out of her body just below her collarbone.

Seeing this massive gemstone makes you cringe, as you have a sudden intrusive thought about how much it would hurt to lodge a jewel that big into your own chest. You take it to mean that this girl really isn't human.

What's planned for the next release

Hello all!

If everything goes the plan, the next release will focus on visuals! Specifically:

  • New character artwork: I showed my artist a list of monster girls who have not had artwork, and they picked the most interesting ones to them. Soon after this post, I will make a poll, and the winner will choose which of these monster girls gets drawn next.
This poll will be for $1 pledges and up for a couple of reasons, one of them being my ability to freely discuss the character/outfit/pose/scene/etc. without having to censor myself.
  • A reskin of the game: I always chuckle when someone messages me and comments that the game looks professional, because to me, it looks like an amateur developer came up with the look (because an amateur developer came up with a look. i.e., me).
To me, it looks like a website not a game. Hopefully with these planned improvements, that impression will be reversed: it'll look like a game more than a website!
I can show some preview images of the reskin here, since they are safe for work. Note these are a work in progress, and the color scheme definitely isn't the final version.

An addition to the survey pages

Personally, I like the first two. In the end, I'm hoping to settle on a mixture that incorporates them both.

Anyway, let me know your thoughts!

Monster Girl Farmer v0.26.00 Released!

This release adds a ton of new features! In fact, I highly recommend you check out the changelog to read them all, but there are minor spoilers in there for this release. They're probably worth learning regardless, but before I explain why, I want to let everyone know the access code to v0.26.00 is the same for all the v0.25.xx versions. In other words, if you purchased v0.25.02 a while ago and stopped subbing, the same access code will work on v0.26.00.

Back to the changelog and why it's worth reading, even with its minor spoilers: Monster Girl Farmer has a lot of optional monster girls you discover by exploring the forest. Before this release, you had a random chance of finding an optional monster girl every time you explored anywhere in the forest. Now, every optional monster girl can only be found at specific locations. The changelog says where you can find each of these optional monster girls, now that they are only found in a specific place.

Note: there are certain optional characters that can only be found if you have Eva with you and vice versa. Some optional characters are only found by sleeping, and some only after certain events. The changelog doesn't go into these details, but if you are stuck, feel free to ask me and I'll help you out.

My discord server is the best place to chat with me. Unfortunately, I don't seem to be getting emails when somebody messages me on this site, so sometimes I go days without realizing somebody has asked me a question.

Anyway, the next release will include new artwork, probably a new character, and I'm going to reskin some of the UI to make it more game-like. I've actually commissioned a professional to come up with something, as I have no visual artistic talent. I hope you enjoy the new release! Looking forward to hearing your feedback.

Monster Girl Farmer v0.25.05 released!

Hello all! I made a new minor release of Monster Girl Farmer yesterday. It's not a huge change, mostly some bug fixes and color-coded dialogue for the latest scenes. You can read more about it on the official changelog.

The next minor release shouldn't be too difficult or time consuming to implement, but it will be a big change. I'm sorely lacking terminology here, so bear with me. There are two types of monster girls in the game:

1) Monster girls you can have encounters (AKA battles) with. At the moment, this is the same thing as saying monster girls from the main quest line. They are discovered by main quest events or exploring specific locations. Enoki is an example of one of these types. You find her by exploring the "A Rotten Tree" landmark.

2) Monster girls you can't have encounters with. At the moment, this is the same thing as saying side quest monster girls. These are discovered at random by exploring or sleeping. Rebecca, the mimic girl, is an example of one of these types. Exploring anywhere in the forest gives you a small chance of encountering her.

Instead of finding 2) anywhere by pure chance, they will show up in specific location(s). Similar to how you can only find Enoki by, "A Rotten Tree," you'll only be able to find Rebecca at a specific landmark. This has some major ramifications, all positive:

  • Discovering the monster girls from 2) will have higher odds. Less grinding!
  • This allows more quest complexity. For example, lay a trap at the primeval forest and come back in two days. Even something that simple isn't possible right now because odds are you won't.
  • From now on, the question, "How do I meet X," will have a better answer than, "Luck."
  • The scenes for 2) can now mention specific landmark details. Hopefully it's not obvious, but these scenes mention the environment in the vague ways. They may refer to trees without going into detail about what the trees look like. This had to be done because the scene could occur in any location. In the next version, the scenes will only be in specific locations, so the writing will improve in that sense.
