1 of 27000 Glaciers in Alaska

Per the U.S. Geological survey, Alaska contains around 27,000 glaciers! I visited one of these ice age era relics east of Denali National Park today. Specifically, took a helicopter ride to Alaska’s Yanert glacier. You can expect much of what I filmed to be used as stock footage to represent various colder environments and glacial features in numerous future videos. I saw some sedimentary, metamorphic, and igneous rock in the glacial moraine, 2 moose, lots of permafrost melting related landslides, and more!

I should be back to my regular daily upload schedule on July 19th or July 20th when I’m back from vacation.

Do you have any questions about glaciers?

Wow cool vacation!

Theoretically, yes. But don’t expect anything significant.

Are modern alpine glaciers large enough that their impending absence could cause rebound tectonics?
