In March I got the version 0.22 out. It's more of a tech demo for some of the new systems. Good to get some early feedback and potential bug reports too. It sucks that quite a lot of the previously ready stuff had to be removed so new versions feel like steps back. Not much to do about it sadly. Previous versions had their own problems. It is slow development, but at least I'm making some progress.
On the topic of progress, I've been keeping track of my tasks in Trello for a while. This far I had a messy private board where I kept tasks for myself. I feel like it would be helpful to have a public Trello board. For me to have a clearer plan on what I want to do. For you to see what is my general plan and what I've managed to get done. Two broader tasks are already done after the release of the latest version. Character based turn queue and the AI making it's own decisions. Right now I'm working on animation improvements for most of the characters. Combat animations specifically. So if a character throws a grenade, it should look like it. Or for example Kate's running animation is really silly right now. Probably something bugging out there.
For each of these Trello tasks, I also have some details written under them. Often a bit of an explanation of what that task exactly contains, so it's clear for me and you. And more importantly, a "Why?" section where I try to explain, why the task is even necessary. Again, for me and for you.
I think anyone can comment on the Trello tasks directly, so if you have suggestions or problems with a task, you can mention them there. Commenting here or messaging in Discord works too!
My main plan right now is to finish the character animation update task before the end of the month, so I can get a more interesting version out.
