December progress

I'm happy with how the end of last year went. I managed to clean up all the animations and got another version out. Sure the version didn't really have too much to show, but I think it's still good.

I had to make some animations for Naomi and Melianna. Also cut some existing long sex animations into shorter ones that loop perfectly. 

I worked on a few smaller things like the ice cube that is used in some sex animations or some particle effects for freeze ability. 

After the release I started working on input improvements, larger map and more interesting gameplay. The input side is pretty straight forward, I just have to make the code a bit more complicated to make the player experience less complicated. I kinda merged the move and basic attack abilities together. It's nice if all this simple stuff is just one click away.

Bigger map would lead to some exploration, more interesting combat situations, player progression and potentially lore elements. I still want to keep the levels semi-abstract as in the environment might not make perfect physical sense, but most parts of it should be clear on what they represent. 

The gameplay changes are the parts that are the most open ended still. I'm testing out exploration elements on bigger map. That doesn't work too well on a strong grid. One option is to make the grid less obvious or noticeable. Another option is to ditch the grid altogether and allow movement in more free form. I'm still trying these things out, seeing what feels like the most fun and easy to use.

One reason I want to add exploration to the game is because it would work well with player progression. Certain enemy types only exist in certain areas of the map. Different girls can be hired to your crew by reaching different spots. Same with some ability unlocks perhaps.

By the end of January I'd like to have clarity on what direction to go in exactly. Then for the end of February I plan to release another build which would hopefully include all the gameplay improvements.
