There was basically no progress this month. I've been more busy with my main job and got really sick for well over a week. Although I did manage to do the poll to find out what you guys view as important for the game.
What I found out from the poll:
It's clear that the detailed girl models are a big selling point for the game. Variety of animations is important too. Surprisingly, the detail level for the animations isn't as important.
Story, cutscenes, environments and voice acting, these are things that aren't cared about much. It kinda makes sense though as I worked on these parts because I wanted to try them out. Now they are dragging down the development speed without adding much value.
It seems to me like the gameplay doesn't have to be too complex for most people either. It's just good if there is something to do. I might want to do another poll for purely gameplay questions as the previous poll was more about visual stuff.
What next?
I want to refocus the game development. Currently lots of time seems to be wasted on adding features or content that most people don't care about. Some of these aspects aren't that interesting for me anymore either. I'd like to cut these parts off and invest the time onto more interesting elements.
I'll cut all kinds of story aspects. The time would instead go on making more characters and animations. With the dropping of story, I'd probably want to broaden the theme of the game too, just so I could make some non-futuristic girl characters and non-robot enemies. For example a demon girl, some sorceress, a female knight, an office lady, etc. I've been wanting to make something like that for a while, but haven't been able to.
Feel free to let me know what you think about all that!
