{art} Summer scales update, and a change of paradigm

the update is up on the dropbox https://www.patreon.com/messages

I continue to experiment with the ipad pro and procreate, and more and more it is settling itself as my go-to tool for sketch work. I've been doing all the sketches for all the work of the last two weeks in it and it's been a blast.

It has the same "Nintendo switch" effect that you can grab it, draw, and put it down whenever. Whenever i feel like drawing a butt, i just pick it, draw for 10-15 mins, and then carry on with my day. As opposed to my previous, more static workflow, where i had to sit down on my workstation, get in the mindset of working for at least several hours on a row (otherwise, why even try), do whatever work i had in queue, and theeeeen think on doing sketch series like summer scales here.

So, hopefully this speeds up my work on these :D ! Which is good news for everyone. I even started working on other sketch series i had roughed out, one even before summerscales :O

That'd be all, cheers!

I like having options so I stick to both. The ipad does retain the "notebook" sensation, as opposed to sitting on a desk and working on a cintiq.

Thanks for the reply. I work on a Cintiq myself but have been considering switching to an iPad Pro, since I actually prefer working on paper but have to keep it digital.

I use a cintiq 22hd in my workstation. I'd say i don't notice the difference in responsiveness between drawing with a cintiq, and drawing with an Ipad. The sensation is different tho, because the ipad feels like you're drawing on crystal, vs the cintiq that has the classic wacom paperlike-plastic feel to them. It's something you need to get used to. That or get one of those paper-like screen protectors, but the reviews i read say they distort the colors and i'm having none of that. I've only used procreate cuz it's what everybody uses and has more than enough features for what I do. I'd say it's awesome. I've never used touch tablets for drawing, so zooming, panning, and all the fancy gestures feel amazing to me. The undo is a two-finger tap which is amazing too and I find myself trying to do it subconsciously on the cintiq now, of course, nothing happens.

How responsive do you find the iPad when compared to your usual tools (Intuos/Cintiq?) and how intuitive are the drawing apps?
