What Happened to Homelander

OK GUYS HERE IS MY ROUGH DRAFT. I will be posting this to the rehab channel along with a lot of other videos that just didn’t make the cut soon.

Please let me know before I make it public if you think I should change anything/you think I handled something incorrectly.

Bear in mind I do all of this on my phone. And not I’m asking you guys to let me know how I should change it before it goes public. ALSOOO Our documentary is on trending!

Love,

Uncle farmer Dad Ben

This is not where I expected the plot of The Boys to go ):

Very good video here, thanks for just walking through it with us. I admire your fortitude a lot - you loved the poor dummy but you love the others enough to put all that meat to good use. Crazy how quick a friend turns into butcher's shop stuff, tho.

John Bonnin

RIP Homelander you handsome boi 💖

Ash

R.I.P Homelander, lived a very happy life with you Ben! Thank you for this video and for being so kind to the animals you care for along with being genuinely honest about being a wildlife rehabber and/or farmer. ♥

CAFFEINE

Thanks for the PG 10 warning. I watch these videos with my kids all the time. They are really excited about animal rehabilitation in the future. I'll give them a little bit before they watch this one though. This side needs to be shown before people get into it. You're doing great by these animals

Autumn Tzu

What do you use to euthanize animals? I imagine Homelander may have been shot but what about smaller animals and such?

Noah

R.I.P. Homelander, I respect how you handled the situation.. absolutely the right thing to do. You do wonderful work for all the animals! They are blessed to have you

Lana Passman

Sorry to hear about homelander but you did the right thing. As hard as it is to say goodbye the welfare of the animal has to come first. Homelander had an awesome time in your ranch with the other sweet wompums. Sometimes these things just happen. Take care Ben ❤️

Morgan

Ostrich is back on the menu boys!

Mark Bubs

In terms of editing for YouTube, I would maybe either pixelate or blur Homelander’s actual wound. I know some veterinary channels that are able to avoid demonitization that way.

thewitchbasket

Home lander is frolicking with big ounce now, you did a good job uncle Ben you super sigma R.I.P

Lrogers-12

I’m sorry, Ben. That really sucks. Homelander was a special bird.

Philip Sherman

While he was flopping over it he kept kicking and his body weight snapped the leg after it flopped over—v crazy

Ben Christie

I don’t exactly understand how his leg got caught in the top bars when he ran into the fence. I hope it’s not too morbid, but I would be curious to see that footage. Also, what exactly does an ostrich’s pain response look like? He looked pretty chill when you were sitting with him, aside from the open beak. Was he panting? Poor Homelander. RIP.

Philip Sherman

Honoring her through consuming her remains is one of the best things you could do ❤️

Jasper Goodfriend

Rest in peace homelander. Thank you so much uncle Ben for making sure not a single part of her went to waste. Truely shows just how competent you are at this job❤️❤️❤️

Apocrow

Although painful to watch, I think this edit was necessary, showing what it takes to be a rehaber. It's not all glizzys and wattoms.

Amy

I'm so sorry Ben, professionalism aside i'm sure homelander was a rough loss.. Your a legend for continuing on after the year u had. God has given you immense strength bc he knows u need it

Brian McElligott

Thank you, Ben. RIP lovely Homelander

Carolyn Wirth

Thank you cousin Ben, I enjoy seeing the real you doing the work that has to be done. The goofy censored YT you is great too. Thank for showing us the real world. FYI European starlings are invasive, feed those things to other things

Patrick

rip Homelander.

Papist Pig

Poor baby Homelander. Sorry for your loss Uncle Ben.

F8

Homelando :( Rest in Power, Queen.

J

This was soooo hard to watch seeing Homelander pass away. She’ll be prancing around in heaven🤍 fly high precious dinosaur!

kevinsonlyfanspremium

Yea there was no way she would have lived a happy life after that... I bet behind all this nonchalant was still a lot of pain :(

Lucy

I’ll miss seeing Homelander but I’m glad she’s in a better place and will provide for Ben and the wildlife rehab

Farqquadgang 25

Wow, her leg was straight up split. Poor girl.

Heather Doty

You made the right call with Homelander, it would of been cruel to keep her in pain. Not letting her go to waste was right too. Losses will be inevitable doing rehab. I think its wise to show us these moments.

TelestoTBK

RIP Homelander. She lived far longer than she would have with your treatment of her legs as a bb, at least.

Heather Doty

So sorry about homelander but you gave her a good life and didn’t let her suffer 💗 she will live on through your videos and providing sustenance to the other animals!

Marina Lex

Im generally pretty resistant to seeing animal injuries since I've worked on a cattle ranch before, but Home Lander trying to stand up with her leg in half did make my stomach drop a bit. Since Ben seems to have the intention of the new channel being for things that are little more graphic, I thinks its mostly fine. The disclaimer helps a lot too.

vtm

RIP Homelander ✊️😔

Terminal_patient2

Sorry for Homelander but it's good she isn't going to waste, I think the video looks good!

Jeremiah Darpino

Goodbye homelander =(

Rat Boi

Rip homelander. Stay strong, love everything you do

Cassandra

I’m sorry this happened. The only thing in the video that really made my stomach turn/heart break was seeing her try to move/stand up at the beginning. Not about demonetization but just something to consider. I completely understand it was an accident but idk something about seeing that really hit me. Was fine about seeing the broken leg and meat stomach etc…I’m glad she did not go to waste and will in a way live on. Also love what you said about thinking why God maybe let that happen, I think about that a lot too when something doesn’t go the way I would have wanted / sad happens. Maybe it was a way of protecting the baby clappys in the future.

BG

I think quite literally anyone can take a lesson away from this vidya, it reaches far more than just farm and rehab life! It may help people understand that sometimes things just happen and all you can do is learn from it (and in this case help others by not being wasteful). Only potential ding could be your bloody hand when you showed us all the meat you were able to harvest…

Jordan

Very good to see the nitty gritty and the love that goes into rehab like this. Homelander is not in pain, she went to great use, and we all got a good lesson in both ostrich digestion (with the stones) and ethics.

RavenBonnefoy

The only parts I worry about are the shots of the broken leg itself and the instant that the gun is on screen. I’m not a content creator so I don’t know how strict the algorithm is or if it would even catch the gun. I like the idea from an earlier comment of having a separate video for homelander’s ending. Also maybe name the fence “butcher” but that might be insensitive 😂

Jonathan Mroczkowski

Thanks for letting us know what happened to Homelander. Its really sad to see her go, but thats how life goes. Thank you for being so transparent on the process, but keeping that optimism and empathy you have for the animals. We really appreciate what you do for the animals and all the commitment you have for teaching and showing us.

Smol Weeb

Sorry to hear about Homelander. Wondered why we have not seen him at your window. We all know if there was anything at all possible that you could have done to fix the leg you would have. You did the best thing for him. It’s a hard decision to make to put an animal down but it’s always for the best.

Sharon Hebert

Sending tons of love to the urban rescue ranch ❤️

Mikey

I'm so sorry you had to go through that Uncle Ben, Homelander was a beautiful creature and you honored her well. She will be missed, and I think you handled the situation as best and humanly as possible.

Emmie

RIP Homelander.

Vizzy

That's ranching and rehab alright. It's a sad day, but the animal's life will sustain more life, just as nature does. My only thought is this whole video just going to be uploaded on the rehab channel? People who may not want to see Homelander's end will still want to see everything else in the video, so maybe two separate videos? skibity rizz

Kevin H

Dang uncle Ben, I’m sure that’s a hard vidya to make. You did a great job with giving warnings and contextualizing Homelander’s role in the big scheme of things. I’m sorry for everyone on the branch who had to go through that day, but I think it shows the strength that’s required of rehabbers and livestock farmers. Reality pilled, based, v sigma of you all. 🤍

AC

I think you handled everything fine regarding the euthanasia. Speaking as a vet assistant, it’s easy for people to think you’re cold and unfeeling when you have to put down an animal, but it’s very humane and you have to be in control of your emotions if you are the one performing the euthanasia. I think this is a fine video to show because this line of work is not easy, it’s nasty, it’s physically challenging, and you have to endure a lot of injustices and hard decisions. You have to really love taking care of animals in order to make it. I think this video does a fine job of handling that. As far as what YouTube might strike, I’m could potentially see them getting petty over your bloodied hand where you show off the meat you processed. Hard to tell since they’re inconsistent and not transparent. I think it’s fine but proceed with caution

florrrfauna

The amount of meat you were able to bag and freeze is insane. It’s also nice to know that you were able to euthanize without having to move her.

Pika

🫂 poor homie-lander But I'm happy everything didn't go to waste.

Ryon Kemp

Thank you for your transparency. So sorry for Homelander and I sure appreciate that his life will nourish others. Hugs.

Kat Orta

You are so wonderful and professional and empathetic and yet so bright and realistic and optimistic. Thank you for doing what you do the way you do it and for sharing it with us. <3

widgetoc

Doesn't seem controversial to me but I don't know what the algorithm will think. I see Uncle Ben slingin' that .38!

Sean Glennon

wait so everything that you post here goes to the rehab channel or there will be exclusive videos for the patreon?

luki

One thing never changes, threats from that god damn frog.

Joey

Thank you for taking good care of Homelander and giving her dignity instead of making her suffer. You're a good uncle, Uncle Ben.

JBones RVA

Oh so sorry to hear about homelander. Your ability to look at things realistically even through your sadness is the reason you are so good at what you do.
