Poll on whether to continue patron-exclusive weekly shorts
Added 2024-04-01 21:15:38 +0000 UTCAlright everybody, this isn't going to be a pure binary and binding Y/N poll. I'm going to look at the returns for all three answers, add in any direct feedback from higher tier patrons, and then come to a final decision on whether to continue a regular drip of super-short stories on a weekly, biweekly, etc basis.
For those who missed the introductory post a few weeks ago, the basic premise is this. I think there will be several benefits in writing and releasing a steady stream of really short stories at a quota likely of 1K words every week or every other week. These stories might be slightly less polished than the norm but they will be for patrons exclusively. The downside of doing this is that time committed to writing them is time I'm not spending on major projects. (in theory, doing these would suck up 10-20% of my monthly output.) As such, I would like to hear your collective opinions on whether they are a worthwhile use of my time. Please vote, and if you have any more detailed thoughts/opinions I'd be glad to hear them through either comments or direct message. (The Poll will remain up through most of the week.)
Now, without further ado, would you like me to continue producing and releasing super-shorts like those that have gone out the past two weeks...
P.S. The full monthly report will go up either tonight or tomorrow, but those things take ages to write up.

As long as those shorter project don’t delay the release date of the bigger project like domestication (my current obsession) or peril of adventure (hope u get back to writing soon)

2024-05-01 13:36:25 +0000 UTCIf you are mentally spinning your wheels on a large project and can instead get some actual writing done on a short project, then I think you should do the short project. I don't think that you need to commit to a specific number of short works per month, just use them to keep your writing flowing when you are struggling with a large project. I think keeping the short works patreon exclusive is good.
