LUCKILY, after finally taking the leap into the Second Season, I quickly discovered that this is NOT the case :D
I'm finally (and carefully) utilizing the timeline that you all recommended and it's been a BIG help as I settle myself back into this story. It took an episode, but I think I'm back into the swing of things and ready to see where this crazy German, Sci-Fi story takes me......

Of course - we were not shamed in the internet for it - but trust me, everyone of us missed plot points somewhere in this show and just got lost. And you're really doing really well with connecting stuff (you have been in season one and I'm sure you'll continue to do so further on). Much love, I hope you'll continue with Dark. I discovered you through your Dark reactions and saw that you already did Severance S1, been watching your reactions since. It's been really fun, and I really like your way of thinking about the stuff you watch :D

I think the "pat pat" hug shows that Wöller, while not obviously unsupportive, hasn't fully embraced his sister's gender identity. She strokes his back gently, a womanly hug. He pats her back forcefully, more like you would hug a man, a brother.

It's 6 x 50min episodes about a family that move into a abandoned 70's smart home. They find out it is operated by a tall, sleek free moving robot named Cassandra who is able to watch them from every room via tv monitors that are built into the walls. I loved the 70's esthetic of the home which the new family does not remodel.

You don’t have to get everything, the show will give you multiple chances to pick up on hints and will hit you over the head a la Mikkel when there’s an important plot reveal. Viewers get excited when rewatching to catch early clues, but don’t let them spoil the experience for you by insisting you immediately connect the dots.
