Today, I bring you another issue of the DevDiary (wonder if I can coin the term someday...).
I'm quite sure that many of you have noticed that the current "Character Status" menu is... quite barebones, very WIP and unsatisfactory. Moreover, the so-called "Pregnancy focused game" has a very limited pregnancy and conception mechanics, some of you might have even been worried by it. Well, be worried no more as conception will be the main focus of the next few patches ^^.
In the previous versions of the game, the coitus could result in pregnancy, but the only real information received by the... receiver ^^ was the partner's race. Now, we will have quite a few other variables in the equation, as the seed will have its own properties. As you can guess from the (low-quality, I know, it's still an in-engine editor) screenshot, values such as strength, race, and type of the seed are tracked and will have impact on gameplay.
The system will be quite unique, and a few quite important concepts and ingenious ideas were pitched by my supporters. The conception mechanic was especially influenced by Kerebrien's ideas. I am enormously grateful both to him and the other supporters who pitched an idea here and there, left feedback etc. These ideas and comment are very helpful and I thank you for expressing them!
Thank you for checking out this showcase, this is, however... not all ^^ Alas, my lips are sealed for the time being. All I can say is this and, possibly, other changes to the system will be available with the next, 0.2.2 update.
