🩵Your reaction to ep 5 was more… spirited than I would have guessed. Great stuff! I KNOW you won’t, but I’d LOVE to see you react to Train to Busan and its companion aeni (anime) Seoul Station. I read they renamed Howard University’s theatrical arts school after Chadwick Boseman. I’ll have to hop over a take a shot.🖤💜🖤

The whole reveal of the Marvel Zombies was such a cool twist when it first dropped in the comics. They made their debut in Ultimate Fantastic Four #21 back in 2005, but the setup started in the issue prior. Issue #20 ends with Reed Richards (who’ll be played by Pedro Pascal in the upcoming Fantastic Four movie) of the Ultimate universe, checking his messages and receiving a strange distress call from another Reed Richards, one claiming to be from a different universe. Naturally, fans got hyped. This Reed from another universe looked and acted just like the Reed from the Mainline Marvel Universe (Earth-616), so everyone assumed we were about to get a full-blown crossover between the Ultimate Fantastic Four and the Mainline 616 versions. In Ultimate Fantastic Four #21, the two Reeds communicate through hologram tech, comparing their worlds, like how in Ultimate universe (Earth-1610), the Avengers are known as the Ultimates, there's fewer way fewer superheroes, and The Ultimate Fantastic Four are younger and operate under government oversight, closer to a government funded Think Tank. At one point, this “mainline” Reed even shows off his child, which lined up perfectly with what was happening in the main Marvel comics at the time, where Reed and Sue already had a kid. All signs pointed to this being the 616 Reed Richards, a long waited crossover between the re-imagined, modernized, and more "realtisic" Ultimate Universe that began with Ultimate Spider-Man #1 (2000) and the more fantastical mainline comics we’ve been following since Fantastic Four #1 (1961). But then came the twist. Ultimate Reed builds a portal and travels to what readers assume is the main Marvel Universe. Instead, he ends up in a wrecked, post-apocalyptic version of New York City, and is suddenly surrounded by zombified versions of the Fantastic Four and other classic Marvel heroes, all wearing their retro costumes from the 1960s to 1980s. But this isn’t the mainline Marvel Earth at all, it’s Earth-2149, a universe that closely mirrors the main Marvel Universe with only a few differences, but one that’s been completely overrun by a mysterious zombie virus. Reed is rescued by this worlds Magneto, one of the last uninfected survivors. Eventually, the rest of the Ultimate Fantastic Four show up, pull Reed out, and take him back to their universe, but they accidentally bring the zombified Fantastic Four with them. In Ultimate Fantastic Four #31–32, those zombies break out, wreak havoc, and are eventually forced back into their own reality. After that, Marvel Zombies became its own thing. It spun off into a full miniseries starting later in 2005, right after the Ultimate Fantastic Four zombie arc wrapped up. The series dove deep into this alternate zombie world, showing how these zombified heroes still retained their intelligence, but were completely consumed by hunger. Then in 2007, we saw a crossover with Army of Darkness, where Ash from Evil Dead tries to survive against undead versions of Marvel’s mightiest heroes.
