Just like What If…?, she took the Super Soldier Serum instead of Steve Rogers, becoming... well, actually Captain America despite being British, as she adopts the stars and stripes. Captain Carter also has a sidekick called Becky, who is essentially a female version of Bucky. I'm not sure if Bucky Barnes himself exists in this universe, since he's not a major part of the story. In Avengers Forever (2021), she was re-introduced wearing a suit with a Union Jack emblem on her chest and shield. The 2022 later expanded on her story and drew heavily from Captain America: The First Avenger (2011). Carter was frozen in ice after crashing a plane full of explosives into the Arctic, much like Steve Rogers in the MCU. The comic even opens with S.H.I.E.L.D. discovering the plane, mirroring the opening of Captain America: The First Avenger (2011). Recently, in TVA (2025), Captain Carter is working for the TVA alongside Spider-Gwen, a Gambit variant who lost Rogue, and Jimmy Hudson, Wolverine’s son from the Ultimate Universe. The comic reworks the TVA to match the version seen in Loki, making it a single, unified TVA across all Marvel media. So, canonically, all your favorite TVA characters from Loki have interacted with Gwen and Captain Carter. Like how B-15 met Deadpool & Wolverine. ------------------------------------ Exiles Context: Exiles is a series about the Exiles, a team of variants from different universes who’ve been pulled from time and space to fix problems across the multiverse. Many coming from worlds that were either destroyed or severely altered. Exiles is a really fun read with some awesome variants. You’ve got Khan, a future version of Kamala Khan (who you just met in Ms. Marvel), existing in a a dystopian future where Inhumans, Mutants, Sentinels, and Humans seemed to be fighting each other, very Days of Future Past. Then there’s Valkyrie, inspired by Tessa Thompson’s version in the MCU (who showed up again in Love and Thunder). And Iron Lad, a younger version of Kang the Conqueror, who ditches his destiny and goes back to the past to help form the Young Avengers. But the version shown in Exiles? He stayed in the 30th century and decided to get revenge on his bullies instead of heading to the 21st century. And leading the team is Blink, an X-Men member from the Age of Apocalypse timeline, a storyline that temporarily replaced the main Marvel universe (Earth-616) during the '90s before things got restored, leaving Age of Apocalypse as its own alternate universe (Earth-295). You met Blink in X-Men: Days of Future Past (2014), used portals to fight the sentinels.
