I never even would’ve thought about something like how difficult it would’ve been for the camera operator to avoid slipping in the mud. I would love to see a scene by scene breakdown if you ever decide to go back and do it. If you like long takes, you may want to check out Birdman. It’s a strange film but it’s wonderfully directed and Michael Keaton, Edward Norton and Emma Stone all give great performances.

WW1 gets less attention than more recent stuff and people don't realize the horrors of trench warfare, mustard and chlorine gas etc I've always been interested since I found out my grandfather was in the trenches of France in 1916-17. (I found out after his death - he never talked about it during his life)
