Oscar Isaac is doing such a great job playing multiple characters. It's such fascinating show and I am psyched to see where it goes.

Another great Tom Cruise movie. Keep it in mind if you ever do a sci-fi themed poll!

Thanks for pointing out the similarities between Steven and Batman. I love the concept that he wears white so his enemies can see him coming.

Jacqueline

It feels so cinematic! I definitely think it's the most well made show so far.

Jacqueline

Ooh, I don't think I've seen that!

Jacqueline

Hahaha!

27:35 🤣🤣🤣 JAX went from ANTI-cult to sign me up. between having sheep and free food, no one should have any issues getting her to join😅

The theme of the ethics surrounding judgment before the crime is committed reminds me of one my favorite movies, Steven Spielberg's Minority Report.

This is the best MCU show. There's some real depth in the characters and the themes the show focuses on.

You’d definitely need consultants, as “Great Britain” is made up of three countries, each with its own counties, cultures, accents, and dialects. If you include the United Kingdom, then Northern Ireland is part of the mix as well. You couldn't just set a movie in Liverpool, for example, and say, “Well, we all know what British people sound like,” and then use the typical British accent, which is often London-based. Liverpool couldn’t be more different from what most Americans expect from the stereotypical British accent, culture or city. The main reason London is often used in many American films is that it’s familiar. People know what to expect in terms of accents, landmarks, and overall culture, making it easier to work with compared to setting a film/show in Manchester, Belfast, or Glasgow. An American could never create a show like Derry Girls without consultants. John Constantine is a perfect example. He’s a Scouser, born in Liverpool with a strong accent. Many of the Hellblazer comics are set in the UK and are distinctly British. However, Constantine (2005) movie made John American and moved the setting to L.A., as it was more familiar to U.S. audiences.

Steven was a rich guy in the comics, but we already have a bunch of rich heroes like Iron Man in the MCU. That’s why they instead made him a store clerk.

I’ve always wondered how British people would react to this show, or any American show depicting England. Even accent aside, I’ve always wondered how American writers write dialogue for different countries. I’m assuming marvel would be able to hire consultants to make sure the slang and such is accurate. But in indie/low budget movies I wonder if they’re less accurate. To me as a Canadian his accent is great but I wouldn’t really know how accurate it is. Some of the slang he says is kinda funny, like “wagwan” which is Jamaican slang, popular in the UK and also Toronto, Canada. What makes it funny is that he’s pretty posh otherwise. Though the reason for this is sort of explained later in the show, but I don’t wanna spoil anything

Outside of Loki I think this is my favourite MCU show. Though funny enough I wouldn’t have said that until today. I really loved the show when it came out but that was almost 3 years ago and I haven’t rewatched it. So watching it with you has reminded me how great is is It has probably the best mystery in any mcu property. And it keeps developing The next two episodes are bonkers, though I think episode 5 is my favourite. Don’t wanna overhype it though, and won’t tell you why so you’re spoiler free Steven is probably one of the most kind hearted people in the mcu, I absolutely love him Moonknight is kinda like marvel’s Batman. you can probably notice the similarities, with the costumes, running on roof tops, and even the moon shapes weapons in his chest (similar to Batman’s batarangs). In the comics moonknight differs from Batman in many ways dont get me wrong. Also in this show. Obviously there’s the Egyptian aspect, and the dissociative identity disorder. That makes him very different from Batman. Also Batman wears black so he can hide in the shadows. In the comics moonknight says he wears white so his enemies can see him coming. So there’s definitely differences. It’s not a 1:1 comparison, Him and daredevil are the closest comparisons to Batman. Dardevil is more similar personality/motivation wise, moon knight is more similar in appearance. Just some fun facts lol Great reaction!

Natalie Gold pointed out one major flaw in Arthur’s plan. Ammit’s method may prevent people from making mistakes, but it also doesn’t give them a chance to learn and grow from them. Belgian reactor Movies with Mary who studied law had also reminded us that one can be punished for an action but not for a thought. I love it when UK-based reactors checked out this episode. Monica Catapusan, Sebscreen, Laila Naema, Rico & Monica – you name ‘em. Now we just need Don Townsend to watch this show. When Steven is wearing the suit, his codename is Mr. Knight. FictionalDarling said he looks like a mummy, but I feel that he looks like a Kingsman Deadpool. Speaking of Kingsman, have you ever seen those films? If you haven’t yet, you should totally check them out sometime. They’re a series of British spy films directed by Matthew Vaughn, the same guy who directed X-Men: First Class. The movies are called The Secret Service and The Golden Circle. There’s also a prequel, and a new entry is in the works called The Blue Blood.
