Bitter Work

When Aang struggles with a block while trying to learn Earthbending from Toph, he wonders if the problem is with him or his teacher. Meanwhile, Sokka gets himself in a jam.

Toph’s ability to recognize Aang’s tendency to avoid interpersonal conflict is great. She’s a fantastic mentor and really helps to balance out Katara’s nurturing teaching style. Aang’s going to need all of their mentorship and advice if he’s going to become the version of himself that can defeat the Fire Nation!

I can’t wait to continue watching this show with you!! I hope you have an amazing weekend!

I'm having a great time rewatching this show with you! It's been a while since I saw this, and I'd forgotten how good it can be, and how great the character development is. Hearing your thoughts and insights into how the different character arcs relate, and your guesses as to how it may play out next, are really intriguing!

Onno Smits

I think the imdb page states that kung fu, roughly translated, means bitter work, or acquired skill, or something along those lines.
