Arcane S1 E1 (Full Reaction)

Welcome to the first Arcane Wednesday!!

This show is incredible. It looks like we're jumping right into a really rich and well thought out world of fiction. The characters were extremely empathetic and relatable. I love it! Also, that ending scene was truly terrifying!

Welcome to the Playground: Orphaned sisters Vi and Powder bring trouble to Zaun's underground streets in the wake of a heist in posh Piltover.

Watched on: Netflix / Runtime: 41:22

Never heard of this show until now, but I am hooked for sure!! I was right there with you rocking out to Imagine Dragons! One of my fave bands, if you've not seen their live concert on Hulu, you totally need to check that out! The animation style is really eye catching. It looks almost like cel shading or like a comic book being animated. It's very distinctive!

Haha! So true!

You’ll get through it pretty quick but you won’t be unscathed

I'll be honest, I've debated rather intensely with myself on whether or not to recommend this one to you XD It is, unequivocally, a masterpiece in my opinion. Ever since it came out, I've been enjoying watching reactions to it... getting to experience people going through the same emotional journey that I went through, myself. It really doesn't hold back, and that is one of the things that I respect the most about it. It treats its audience with enough respect to just... well, put them through the wringer XD It is a show that has phenomenal personal resonance for me, some for the better some for the worse, but I'll talk about that as it becomes relevant. Still, you are lucky that you're getting to watch this right before Season 2 comes out next month. To say that everyone who has seen it has eagerly/anxiously anticipated Season 2 ever since the first season ended would be an understatement.

Here we go! Yes! This show is a masterpiece. The animation, the writing, the music *chef's kiss*. After you finish you should also definitely watch the behind-the-scenes videos they made for the show. It's on the League of Legends youtube channel, the videos are called "Bridging the Rift"

Regarding the animation style, I'm not sure if it has an actual name. The series was animated by the French company 'Fortiche'. They often do these 3D animations with 2D elements painted on. There is 5 part Youtube documentary series called Arcane: Briding the Rift that shows a lot of the ins and outs if anyone is interested.

Oh, very $%&@ing cool. Just one of the best shows ever...that simple. Just one of the best shows. Ever. Going to enjoy watching this again.
