Avatar: The Last Airbender S1 E20

The Siege of the North Part 2

Aang seeks help from the ocean and moon spirits, but he can't find them. To add to the problem, many of the spirits he encounters refuse to help him.

We must protect the moon at all costs!!! Also, DON'T LET ANYONE STEAL YOUR FACE!!! Aaah, that was such scary scene!!! I would have had my face stolen. Do you think you could have kept a straight, emotionless face? Let me know!

This was such a great ending to an epic season!!

Ahhhhhh 1 season down! What a finale! This sets the bare minimum for just how good this series is. Even though this is one of many watch throughs for this show, there is always something you can take from it. You're always surprised that this is still a kid show! The creators of this show do such a great job at taking their time & just building everything up & somehow cramming it into an under 30 min episode. Believe it or not this is arguably the weakest of the 3 seasons of The last Airbender. It had the hardest job I will admit, at getting you to invest & immerse yourself into the universe & its characters. From here on out it only goes up as Sozin's Comet approaches! Can't wait Jax!

That's crazy that he thought there would be no repercussions for killing the moon. I agree that this is a great show for people of every age. Since it was airing on Nickelodeon, I imagine a lot of adults didn't know about it though.

Thank you so much Jared!! That makes so much sense. Thanks for explaining that! That was great foreshadowing on Aang's part.

Jacqueline

Ooh, thanks for explaining that!

Dude killed a fish and the moon literally disappeared. Like, possibly, forever. If not for Yue, it would still be gone now. These are stakes. We're just in season 1 and we know when Sozin's Comet comes at the end of the summer, we know that bad stuff is gonna happen. We're not yet there, tho. We're just way back here where all life might lose the moon. You know there are stakes when suddenly Iroh is fighting (not fighting with rhetoric, no, he's literally throwing fists and fire) on your side. This is a kid's show? (That question is rhetorical, I know its not a kid's show. It's an every-person-needs-to-see-this show.)

Yeah, yes, this. Merge is a good word. Like Aang makes himself a vessel for the spirit of Roku back when they were at his temple in the winter solstice. Roku was never physically there, just Aang allowed a bit of possesion. Or like how Aang was no longer there and he was just a vessel for Kyoshi during her trial. That was not Aang pretending to be Kyoshi, that was Avatar Kyoshi herself. This epic kaiju scene was just Aang being a vessel again and the Ocean Spirit used him to take revenge on the fleet of Fire Nation ships.

Richard Flores

First, love your reactions Jax! I think Aang's avatar spirit was summoned by the ocean spirit so it could fight the fire nation since there was no balance anymore with the moon spirit gone. But when the moon spirit came back to life, the balance was also back and therefore put Aang back. Also I thought it was funny in the last episode Aang said "Maybe the spirits will unleash some crazy spirit attack on the fire nation!" and then they did haha

Jared Hall

Aang didn't work with the moon spirit fish, he merged with an equally enraged ocean spirit to avenge the moon. That's why Aang gets dropped off once the moon returns, at that point the ocean spirit has only one task left before returning to the pond, remove the guy who killed the moon in the first place.
