Never heard of Dan Johnston before, but immediately like him after listening to the first two songs of pain. Reminds me of a band I discovered and instantly loved two years ago named Mischief Brew, and was devastated to find out that their lead singer took his life in 2016. But I don't know much about Folk and this existantial sadness I can hear in both of their music might be a big, or at least common, part of it. Batman is fine; you always wonder how much of Gothams misery is his fault, for not being able to overcome his trauma. Is he Camus' Sisyphos? Last Batman comic I ever read was "Ten nights of the Beast". That was something else.
