I loved this so much that I sent this to a bunch of my jazzer friends and immediately got roasted. Lol. They texts read, "YO! You are BARELY listening to Huntertones?" I have you to thank for opening my ears and eyes to them. ...I will have to keep an eye out for them if they come to Dallas!

That was cool. It makes me think NittPicc should hear "Pick Up The Pieces" as part of her classic rock training. (maybe she knows it already.) The tri-tone sounds as if the air is (figuratively) being let out of the note. 😀

So glad you enjoyed this! If they play in Dallas, you should definitely see them. When they opened for Lawrence they blew me away, they put on a great show! The wind section is: Dan White – saxophone Jon Lampley – trumpet, sousaphone Chris Ott – trombone, beatbox The three of them have played with other bands from NYC a bunch, including Lawrence and Lake Street Dive. When I saw Lake Street Dive play in Philadelphia last summer, the three of them played with them on stage as part of their backing ensemble. Jon Lampley especially performs with a lot of other groups. He plays in the band for The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, plays with O.A.R., and has guested on numerous other tracks for other bands. In fact, if you go way back to your reactions to Dirty Loops, you'll see him playing trumpet in the background of their "Thriller" and "Ring of Saturn" videos! I had the pleasure of meeting Jon after I saw them open for Lawrence. I enjoyed their performance so much I went straight to the merch table after the show to buy their CD, and he was behind the table helping with merch sales. I mentioned to him that it was my first time hearing Huntertones and how much I enjoyed their set, and he was very grateful and shook my hand. So on top of being an excellent musician, he seems like a nice person as well!
