My Girlfriend has four legs now.

Water still dripped from the bathroom faucet as Theron stepped out, drying his face with a towel. It was the weekend, and he’d been looking forward to a lazy Saturday with Nova, his girlfriend of three years. Yawning, he shuffled toward the kitchen, half-asleep—until the sound of bare feet on tile froze him in place. "Good morning," came a sweet, sleep-softened voice. Nova padded toward the coffee machine, her wild curls even more tangled from sleep, dressed in nothing but her pajama top and those stretchy cotton panties she always wore. Theron stared, his throat tightening. He swallowed hard, rubbing his eyes. "N-Nova...?" She yawned, squinting against the light. “Hmm? What’s wrong?” Absently, she scratched her calf with the back of her foot—one of four now planted firmly on the floor. From the hips down, Nova had two pairs of legs. The new set emerged seamlessly behind the first, shifting her hips back just enough to be noticeable. She moved with eerie grace, as if she’d always walked this way. “Honey, are you… okay?” She turned slowly; her expression still hazy with sleep. “Yeah. Just a little tired, but fine. Why?” “Because you have four legs!” Nova blinked. Then she looked down, as if noticing for the first time. Her face was a strange mix of bewilderment and eerie calm. “Ah… Wow. You’re right.” She shifted her weight, bending slightly to rest her hands on her front thighs. Her panties strained against the extra limbs, stretched far beyond their intended design. With an experimental wiggle of her toes, she then hooked her thumbs into the waistband and tugged them down, peering between her legs. "Hmm. Interesting," she murmured. Then, matter-of-factly: "The front set has the usual. The back ones, though..." Theron didn’t dare move closer. "What? What do they have?" "A penis. And balls." She said it the way someone might mention yesterday’s weather. "No idea if it works. Guess we’ll find out." "You’re way too calm about this." “I feel fine. Nothing’s wrong. It’s like it’s always been this way.” She planted all four feet firmly, testing her balance. “Actually, I feel steadier than usual.” She tugged her panties back up, though they bunched uncomfortably between the extra limbs. “We should go to the hospital,” Theron insisted. “This isn’t just some weird rash. It’s a massive mutation.” Nova rolled her eyes. “Last month, I watched a girl split into two people in the bathroom. That’s traumatic. This? I’m not sick. Just… different. Better. Watch.” She stepped back, forward, then broke into a light trot, circling the kitchen without a single stumble. Her feet made soft, wet sounds against the tile, her movements fluid, almost practiced. “Okay, yeah, you’re freakishly coordinated. But what about inside? Organs shift, nerves change—this isn’t just about walking!” Nova glanced at him over her shoulder as she headed toward the bedroom. “Theron, relax. You always assume the worst. Right now, I just need to figure out which pants still fit. Wanna hit the mall for breakfast? I’ll need new clothes anyway.” Without another word, she disappeared down the hallway, the rhythmic tap of four bare feet fading behind her. Theron stood alone in the kitchen, paralyzed. Nova’s utter nonchalance was… unsettling. Maybe she was still half-asleep. Or maybe her brain processed absurdity differently. Then her voice floated from the bedroom, bright and amused: “Hey, Theron! Mind if we order extra shoes? I think I’ll need a second pair for every style!”
