Per EA's rules, Canyon Skies is now available to everyone!
As promised, I've made some improvements to some of the builds in Canyon Skies. The most drastic change is at the corner of Main Street and Route 64; I felt that the base camp lot was too big for the neighborhood, and so I subdivided it into a smaller base camp with an adjacent starter home. I also switched the architectural style from Victorian to the "False Front" architecture common in the Old West.
The Base Camp is imagined as a western saloon; the bar area below serves as a common kitchen while the upstairs serves as dormitories.
Similarly, the adjacent starter home is imagined as a rented room within a co-op renovation of a saloon. There is also a stable, so that you can start playing with horses early in the game without being too removed from town proper.
I also added a small starter home on one of the 60x60 lots on the outskirts of town. This will be useful for people who want to build the shabby barn into a ranch. That would be a fun challenge!
The 'Cantilevering Condo' lot also received some love; originally, I didn't plan for this lot to be luxurious, but I've come around. Since the lot is only affordable to late-career level sims, and it's located in a wealthy area of town, it made sense to reorganize the facade, add more car space, nicer furniture layout, etc.
