New Release: Lonesome

Oh my goodness, it's release day! I've been so excited to share this new song and music video with you all. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU for making this possible. Thank you for allowing me the time to explore this song, to really pour myself into production and mixing and dreaming up ideas, for giving me the ability to bring those ideas to life, to drive out to the desert and have an adventure and create this video for you all.

I wanted to share one of my favorite ways to immerse myself in a new song in case anyone would like to give it a try today! Read on below for that. I'll be keeping my own personal meaning behind the song to myself for now so you can find your own connection to it.

Enjoy and thank you and happy happy weekend!

LONESOME

Does anybody know

Why I get this feeling

I wake up to it eating at the core of me

And so, if dreams are just for show

Just stories without meaning

Why can I not shake them from my bones

Does everybody want to be alone

Tell me it’s okay so I can go home

If everyone wants to be alone

It would make the lonely feel less lonesome

It lingers in my day

It’s lurking in the backyard

Birds just keep on singing, so oblivious

But you, you start to feel it too

Just underneath the surface

Whispers from the left side of the bed

Does everybody want to be alone

Tell me it’s okay so I can go home

If everyone wants to be alone

It would make the lonely feel less lonesome

I was recently in busy, fast-moving Central Hong Kong and saw a random tortoise roaming the sidewalks. It was quite a phenomenon and very ironic. I thought of you and “Lonesome”, of course.

Hi Kina, I’m watching this again now, after being in a much different headspace/heartspace. Although I had commented when the video first came out that I was grateful that it makes the lonesome feel less alone, now I’m grateful that it makes me feel okay to want to be alone. It’s okay to be a tortoise, if that is my nature. There are many tortoises out there, and we should accept ourselves and not judge ourselves for wanting to be alone. Tortoises know themselves, go at their own pace, and have a necessary shell to protect themselves. What could be better than a tortoise? :)

Lovely 😊❤️

Beautiful Kina xxx

Carries more meaning the more I listen to it. Thank you, Kina <3

OMG!!! I love it a lot. It's impressively beautiful and breathtaking 👍❤🐢 and thank u too for the message in the sand

So much growth, yet still so innocent. Wonderful music Kina.

Really good Kina. Brilliant combination of song, performance and video. Love the song, your voice, the video ... and of course the tortoise! :) :) :)

Oh my gosh, the song is gorgeous and that tortoise was just PERFECT! Thanks so much for all you do. <3

I tried really hard to share how "In The Waiting" affected me, and then you go do this. I had to wait a while before posting. This was a sledgehammer, albeit a beautiful one. But it still hit home, hard, triggering long forgotten memories of the person I used to be, and the echoes that persist. That soaring octave leap was cheating, pushing me over the edge. Your voice, and how you arrange your music to use it so well, have matured so wonderfully.
