Shreked game: yay or nay?

Kifflom, brothers and sisters! It's been a while since I wrote about my projects - and it's time to fix that. As you know, in recent months I've decided to focus on smaller tasks rather than creating new games/novels. If you've read my previous posts, you've seen that I've simply been drawing for my own enjoyment / for my Twitter, rather than for any specific projects. However, at the same time, I've been working on my future project - game based on Shrek universe. I've wanted to do this for a long time, and after finishing the Ladybug novel, the opportunity presented itself. So, alongside, I've been drawing basic graphics for a potential game with green ogres and other magical creatures.

In my next project, I hope to expand the functionality a bit and make it similar to Akabur's games. He's known for developing his games almost single-handedly ( just like me ). If you've played them, you know they're technically simple games, but they contain a lot of content and text, excellent graphics, and unique way of storytelling. Akabur didn't have any special programming knowledge, so he used only a limited number of coding tools. But he did it so skillfully and so well that others started creating their own novels and monetized them through Patreon. Akabur can be called father of the "trainer" genre and pilgrim of western adult indie gaming. I want to try make something similar - a simple project that still attracts attention and, hopefully, allows me to earn money. Unfortunately, at the moment, the amount I receive from my hobby doesn't match the time I spend on development. But I can't thank my patrons enough for their support - they are the few people who really make my life a bit better and keep me going. Thank you again, my Patrons!

I've said a lot above, but the question remains open - will a game based on the Shrek universe win the audience's love? Will it bring me money and fame? This can only be found out after it's release. However, I've talked to various people, and most of them are somewhat skeptical about such an idea. I won't lie, they're veeeery skeptical. That's why I want to ask my followers' opinion - how do you feel about this idea? Currently, the game is only in the early stages of development; I've finished work on basic graphics, but that's it. I still need to program everything, write dialogues, and add adult content. There's still a lot of work ahead. So, if there's a need to stop, now would be just the right time to do it. If the majority of my followers respond positively to the idea of a Shrek game, I'll continue, but if not, it seems I'll have to stop. So, don't hesitate and vote!

Honestly, I understand that the chance of a Shrek game being successful is very low. But on the other hand, I love this universe and believe I can create something interesting based on it. From a marketing perspective, it might have been better to choose a more popular franchise like Harry Potter, but there are already games based on them. And, as strange as it may sound, I want to create something unique. So, I have no desire to work on projects with characters from mega-popular franchises. An alternative could be creating completely original content, rather than parodies, but I'm not ready for such a massive task yet. And honestly, I've always preferred parodies, and I don't think anyone would be interested in paying for my original works.

What's next? We'll see. Last time I did a similar poll, people were divided in their opinions. Most didn't like the idea then, but fewer than twenty people voted. So today's vote will decide Shrek's fate (sounds strange, doesn't it?).

That's it for now, thank you for reading this post. Hear ya soon!

Well, I kinda described it in one of my much older posts. In short, you play as Prince Charming and your goal is to become the ruler of Kingdom Far Far Away.
