RM MONO . The REACTION

WHATCHER FAM!

After much trials and tribulations we have arrived for such a time as this!

I proudly introduce to you - our reaction and review of the critically acclaimed MONO!

I really hope you guys enjoy this experience with us. As usual...let us know whatchagot2say in those comments - COME ON!!!

RM MONO . The REACTION

Comments

I'm so late to this reaction. Loved it so much! I find myself tearing up when I listen to this album, this is actually the first time I'm reading to ALL the songs. Thank you so very much! -- Also saw this post awhile back, thought you'd appreciate it. 'i dont remember where i heard this but someone once said mono feels like you've locked urself in a small dark room your whole life, but this album instead of forcing the door open, RM sits with u in the dark room, holds your hand and tells you "you're not alone" until you feel like you can open the door yourself.'

everthingoes=TRUTH Love this song and the music is out of this world. Genius=RM

Sharon Ebert

Whoa! That is dope!

WhatchaGot2Say

Anyone else notice that in forever rain, there are 6 shadows and then his reflection. Aka bts is a part of himself maybe. So cool.

Da Lantis

I love mono!!!!

Welcome to the party 😁

WhatchaGot2Say

Literally just became a patron to watch Blaze experience mono for the first time. uhgood is always the one that gets me.

SG

Literally became a patron to see this particular reaction from you guys lol... THANK YOU!! mono. left a lifelong imprint on my soul, it's truly so special to me. My favorite lyric from Moonchild is "born to be sad, suffer to be glad".... this mixtape got me through the most lonely and uncertain time of my life last year, it's an absolute treasure to me. So happy to see you guys appreciate and love it too! Much love!

Jillian M

<i>mono.</i> is also currently my favorite BTS solo project. words can't fully describe the emotions it evokes. personally, though, I find I can't listen to it too often, especially not with full translations. some of the songs will have me feeling like I've been through the wringer almost every time. my favorite song on the project is "forever rain." frankly, it's one of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard. it's also one of the most heartbreaking. that electric guitar pierces right into your fucking soul, and the melody of the hook plus its majestic reappearance during the incredible buildup at the song's ending are full of so much <i>han</i> it's nearly tangible. it becomes a physical feeling. (the whole project is positively rife with <i>han</i>, a concept RM mentions in a bar in "seoul" [wordplay: "the Han River, which bears too much <i>han</i>"]. it's a word unique to Korea and something the country has, in post-Japanese-occupation times, adopted as a part of national identity. its definition is highly mutable, but contemporary usage revolves around loss of self/identity, loneliness, grief, resentment, and a combination of "both sadness and hope." read more about <i>han</i> here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Han_(cultural) 👍) "uhgood (어긋)" is my second favorite track. the alternate Korean title for this song is actually a word that sounds very similar to "uhgood" and thus forms a bit of cross-lingual wordplay (which RM is always fond of): 어긋, romanized "eogeut" and pronounced something like... "uoh-<i>guhdt</i>" (where the "uo" sound is a combination sound; the same sound you find in "Hos<i>eo</i>k" and S<i>eo</i>kjin" where it's somewhere between "sock" and "suck"). the meaning of 어긋/"eogeut," a word RM also uses in the lyrics, is yet another Korean-exclusive word that is impossible to succinctly define in English. I'm going to include an explanation here from my favorite (and, IMO, the best) BTS lyric translator, Muish. <i>"The meaning of this word is… to be a little bit off… A little bit off the mark. A little bit not quite getting to the goal. Finding that reality is a bit off the ideal. "If there were two lines that were supposed to be parallel but are actually slightly off… and over time, become more and more off the track, off the direction you wanted to go… If two people were destined to meet, but one arrives early, the other arrives late, and you just miss each other… "All of these would be expressed by saying you have become 어긋."</i> read Muish's translation of and notes about "uhgood (어긋)" here: https://muish.wordpress.com/2019/07/20/rm-bts-uhgood-english-translation-ramblings/ this song and this word reflect so much about me and my life that I very nearly can't stand it. "forever rain" evokes a startlingly beautiful sorrow that few songs can surpass, but "uhgood (어긋)" is borderline torture. it's also, however, the kind of song that... is both deeply comforting and deeply shocking... in that it really forces me to reckon with the fact that these words that intimately describe some of my worst and most personal sadnesses are coming from someone who can at times seem so untouchable and far away, someone who is leading a life that is as different as it could possibly be from mine. someone who never has or will know(n) or see(n) me and who comes from a different country and culture. I've always known I had things in common with Namjoon. I've felt that way since the first month I discovered BTS. he was my original bias for a reason. but <i>mono.</i> took it all to the next level. this project is a work of art that, as of now... I'm tempted to say is a level above any other solo project and <i>almost</i> any other group project that BTS has put out imo. if we're talking about all aspects of a project combined while looking at the career trajectories of other artists who have become timeless, this is the project that has made the biggest advancement toward the future. just fucking fantastic.

curvy tangerine

sure, no problem! I love sharing things like this!

curvy tangerine

@curvy tangerine..sorry I don't know how to reply directly to your post..LOL.. I wasn't disappointed in fact I really appreciate your reply!! Thank you so much for sharing and letting me know💜💜💜

just another youtuber

Lol you know me too well 🤓

WhatchaGot2Say

"Tokyo" is spelled with two characters, actually. the first (東 - read as tou / higashi) means "east"; the second (京 - read as kyou / kei / kin / miyako) means either "capital" or "ten quadrillion." those are the kanji (Japanese versions of Chinese characters). but the hanzi (actual Chinese characters) aren't too different. the first character looks like this: 东 (pronounced "dōng" in Mandarin) but it means the same thing: "east." and the second one is exactly the same in appearance and meaning, with the Mandarin pronunciation "jīng." (thus, Dōngjīng.) this is probably disappointing, sorry... 😅 but now you know some fun facts?

curvy tangerine

please don't erase the contributions of all RM's creative partners that contributed to this amazing work of art. three of the tracks ("tokyo," "seoul," and "uhgood") were not produced by him at all. on another three ("moonchild," "badbye," and "everythingoes"), he was one of two producers. on the final track, "forever rain," he was one of three. as for songwriting: RM had a second songwriter (which could mean any aspect of the song such as lyrics, melody, etc.) on every single track. on "forever rain," once again he also had a third. he was indeed the sole recording engineer, but there were four different mix engineers. there were also instrumental contributions by 12 different musicians on keyboard, synth, guitar, bass, and drums. I know we're all very proud of Namjoon and the rest of the boys, but it's very important to give credit where it's due when you're talking about how the music was made. 👍💜

curvy tangerine

<i>mono.</i> is far from 100% self-made. it's not even 100% self-produced. RM has co-production credit on 4 of the 7 songs and co-writing credit on all of them. he is the predominant creative on this project, naturally; it is his vision. but his creative partners should not have their efforts erased by BTS fans. saying that mixtapes "are always 100% self-made" is erroneous in general as well. many free-release mixtapes, such as RM's first one, use full, unedited beats from other artists' tracks to lay down their own bars over. the <i>RM</i> tape uses instrumentals from Major Lazer, Run the Jewels, Drake, and Big K.R.I.T., just to name a few. this is a standard industry practice among rappers in particular and has been for years. you can find the same kind of work in mixtapes from M.I.A., Nicki Minaj, Lupe Fiasco, and many more.

curvy tangerine

Awwwww how I love this reaction so much!!! RM just does that for you don’t he? He’s so magical and so real. I love the ending with blaze! It’s hella funny and I love you guys so much! Don’t stop reacting okay! You guys are seriously the best out there and I mean it! You guys always make my day!

Nurul Atika Mohd Yazid

Sorry, wanted to re-word my post, lol. I love the MOTS7 reaction and thank you for it, but a phrase pulled from Blaze.. "I'm going to be honest with you", I would have really loved it if y'all would have reacted to MOTS7 like this, each song one by one and reading the lyrics. <3

Madpleasure

I read somewhere before that the Chinese character of Tokyo means "alone".

just another youtuber

loved this so much... thank you both for taking the time to share this with us. Mono is truly my comfort album and seeing you both love and appreciate it so much felt amazing. gotta be honest, everythingoes makes me cry every time I listen, and I cried even more (while laughing also haha) seeing how hard it hit Blaze! Thank you so much <3

Ellie

Thank you so much Nico for making this accessible for Namjoon's birthday! I appreciate it no end! Mono is one of my favorite albums and you guys are one of my favorite reactors, so for your girl, this is a match made in heaven! This album is therapy in so many ways. I'm so glad Joonie decided to release it. And Nico, you need to stop trying to backpeddle okay. I knew you were not going to stay quiet on how you feel about this album. Come on now! LOL Borahae little brothers!

Rachel Avilez

LOVED YALL REACTION!!! Everything was too true and genuine, what blaze said about RM never getting a face really touched my soul. I loved hearing what you had to say as many times as I've watched Forever Rain i never even grasped that! i truly enjoyed this y'all keep up the great work!!

Zariya Edmonds

Yay Blaze is back! And Mono IS a masterpiece and deserves 10 Grammys.

Karla24.wintaebear

Mono is a pure masterpiece. RM at his most vulnerable. I listened from beginning to end and found myself sobbing. I wanted to hug him and thank him and console him. What a musical genius. This playlist was so well put together. Its one of my favorite albums of all time. I'm 53 and a music enthusiast....this is genius level music making. I listen to this album everyday. The talent he has is mind blowing. And what was funny was how unsure he was to release it but said he needed to. Like he HAD to put those emotions out there. What a gift he is. I wish more people knew him and his music. He is probably one of the most talented writers/producers in this century. I feel lucky he shared this with us. I pray the weight he feels lifts and that he will find peace and release he deserves. Thank you for your honest and deep assessment.

Cindy Lepo

Same.

Cindy Lepo

Juana, I play Uhgood when I need to cry it out too.

Sunny Cali

Some songs of mono make me be cry so when I need a good cry to feel better I listen to it

Juana E caminero

It was really satisfying to hear that you both love this album as much as I do. I listen to it daily. It is so therapeutic and soothing. 💤 💜. My favorites are Tokyo, bad bye, and forever rain. Tokyo is like an escape from reality for me and I usually listen to it on repeat.

Brandy Wilson

can’t wait for your reaction guys, you’re gonna be blown away 💜

Shei B.

Shout out to a fellow senior ARMY member! (I’m 51.) Borahae! 💜

Joeli Jackson

Dear Whatcher fam...can someone send me an accurate Korean translation of “Moonchild, you shine”? I want to get it as a tattoo, but don’t trust google translate. 😂 Love you guys reaction, as always. I listen to “Mono” whenever I’m having one of THOSE days. Just put it on repeat, and (in addition to my faith in God) it helps me know that it might hurt now, but eventually, everything’s gonna be all right. Much love! Borahae!

Joeli Jackson

Mono the masterpiece that you are. When i first heard the album i was awestruck and i didn't notice that i was already crying. it is so beautiful. Mono for me is like a warm hug in tough times telling me that "hey its okay, you are not okay now but you will be okay" its just every song makes you feel something . It pinches your heart cause the lyrics is so true and you feel that finally someone understands and you carry tht message until you feel like you can step forward to go through your life again. Mono is just it for me. My favorite album. It helps me a lot and people really need to hear this. Thank you for your reaction i love it. I was crying once again when i finish watching cause i was so affected. And since you asked yes mono is produced by rm composed and lyrics by rm Rap and vocal arrangement by rm Recording engineer rm This really deserve a grammy because it is more than just an album not only for me but for many other people that it help save.

Ann

When I first heard MONO the day it dropped I cried my eyes out. Not only did it reveal the full depth of Kim Namjoon, I felt the growth of the boy from the 16 year old rapper into the fully formed man who had learned to embrace all sides and depths of himself. By the end of my first listen MONO was placed into my top five albums of all time...for me, in my 60s...that's a whole lotta albums. This is the genius of RM - the gift he gave to himself through giving it to us. As always, what a pleasure to re-experience the joy of hearing this for the first time through Blaze. Thank you.

Christina Olds

Did anyone tell you yet that he indeed produced this himself 100%? Cuz it's a mixtape and mixtapes are always 100% selfmade. There's a clip of him in Burn The Stage, I think, where he drops the album on soundcloud and Twitter and is extremely anxious cuz he worked super hard on it. This mixtape was his turning point. From Rapmonster to RM (Real Me) and it shows A LOT!

Katie

I will NEVER regret being a patron , of everything y'all have done to date and I have enjoyed all and flat out LOVED most, this review of MONO has got to be the best thing I've watched y'all do. Watching you and Blaze vibe nad talk about the emotional impact of the music is so very cool. I may have come late to this, but I'm glad I waited and could watch this in one bite. Nico, you and I are on the same page about Moonchild. I am always halfway to tears when I hear it, but also uplifted and comforted. No matter that it is dark, I can rise and shine.. and frankly be a light for others (but that is just how I roll) Blaze, you need to know I *cheered* when you talked about alliteration for People and Pain (I noticed that too and was interested in how he did Die and Day as well, it's a great verse from a writing style point of view) Also Blaze, it sounds like you are referring to the concepts found in No More Dream and N.O. when you reflect on the verse about being "Hostage to Life" both of those songs really speak there for me. Hostage to everyone else's (parents' and society's) expectations and plans for you. Forever Rain is my second favourite on this album. Thank you really, so very much for your deep and genuine response to this. Mac 💜Borahae ARMY💜

-Mac-

I totally subscribe in patreon just to watch this when i saw everything goes reaction on youtube i was like where are the rest?? and i straight up go here and became a patreon 😁

Ann

I'm so glad you both have enjoyed MONO, I hope it too brings you comfort and peace. Know you're never alone in your feelings. Thank you for all your hard work and for making so many of us smile and laugh just by being yourselves. This was a very needed reaction to take my mind off of my own life for a little while. Once again thank you. Stay healthy <3

gabby urb

This truly is a wonderful reaction, long awaited! Good to see Blaze as well! This incredible work of art has gotten me through some really tough times, even now, it brings me a great deal of comfort. Namjoon was talking about this playlist (it's on vlive - worth a watch) and the amount of love and pain put into each song is so real and raw. I'm happy to know that now he has found some brightness and light in his life. He was talking about his change in terms of clothes, the way he was wearing very monochromatic outfits when MONO was in production and now he's enjoying bright and colourful clothing. It seems like such an insignificant thing but the smallest change can tell so much about a person. I guess it's a lesson to all of us.

gabby urb

We are the same way. Our first play through of BTS music is always listening without reading the lyrics. I think its very important to feel the music and allow it to bypass your intellect and speak directly to your heart initially.

WhatchaGot2Say

Love the reaction. When I first listened to it I did it with no lyrics like I do all kpop songs, just because I like to feel the music without the distractions of reading lyrics the first time. Then I sometimes go back and look at the lyrics but for this album I didn't need to. I was able to feel what Namjoon was trying to say and I cried for him and because at that point in my life it was what I needed to hear. I also know that little after this album came out Namjoon said that Forever Rain was the song he wanted played at his funeral.

ClumsyKiki87

Hey Shei you didn’t miss it FAM. We haven’t made a reaction video to Hope World yet. But stay tuned...🤓

WhatchaGot2Say

ok I tried to find it this time but seriously hope I didn’t miss it, did you guys reacted to Hope World? Hobi’s mixtape? love your reactions guys! fighting!

Shei B.

Mono is my favorite album for long walks by myself. It's just healing every single time.

Citrine

Mono really saved me when I was deep in depression, I cannot express how much grateful I am that this masterpiece exists when I am living, I will keep listening to it even when I am in my 80s.

taesthetic_mots

Lol glad you liked it 😁

WhatchaGot2Say

for me, everythingoes, moonchild and uhgood just hit different. i want an everythingoes tattoo

AJ

the ending was really funny! welcome back blaze <3

AJ

make sure to appreciate and send love and support to the amazing artist who drew everything for forever rain!

AJ

mono really moves me. i lost sight of the light for a bit, but you guys and RM reminded me: everything goes. thank you.

AJ

i think namjoon has producing credits on most or all of the songs

AJ

What’s up Blaze!! Love your reaction to Mono 💜

Domini

I love mono so much.. it is truly a therapeutic mixtape. I believe all the mixtapes are by our rapline.. but mono has this vibe and feel that is different. Our rapline have such unique way to get their points across and that makes it wonderful and always special...

Vanessa Canales

I really loved MONO and I really loved your reaction. My favorite song is Everythingoes because it feels like RM is holding me while I cry, telling me "Everything will pass". It feels like a caress to the soul. I agree with you guys, the world needs MONO, the world needs RM in their lives. Thanks for your genuine reaction as always, it almost made me cry with the reflections you made. I love you and I'm glad to see you both in good health. Take care, Greetings from Argentina.

Nati Sabio

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE REACT TO RM'S FIRST MIXTAPE ITS SO SLEPT ON BY REACTORS AND I THINK ALL 3 OF YOU WOULD LOVE IT. the mixtape joke and do you is on. :)

tori

I finally got the chance to sit and watch you guys. Thank you. Just...thank you. I’m so glad Blaze adores the whole of this amazing art and Nico, I’m glad it speaks to you as it does. This playlist is a safe space for me and the reason I haven’t included it in the gigantic playlist for BTS as a whole. It’s just...there...for you when you have need of it. I’ve found it’s the only thing to calm me down when I’m hitting an extreme low point and spiraling. I put in my headphones and curl up and just...cry...until I feel better. There are some days it’s on repeat, the whole thing. Namjoon is amazing and I’m so glad to be in the world that has him in it. Also, my favorites are Everythingoes and Moonchild. And Blaze, if I were to meet you, I would so hug you! Have a beautiful time, gentlemen. Happy listening/watching! 💜

Bethlynn Alldredge

the way i had to pause like 20 times to watch this reaction video, MONO makes me so damn emotional 😭 thanks for the amazing reaction, had fun listening to MONO with you guys!

Nadia

i often say that Namjoon and MONO helped me in ways that no other person/thing did. i have anxiety disorder and MONO calms me down and gives me comfort whenever i'm having an anxiety attack. works every time haha! so thankful to namjoon, glad that you guys love MONO. you can see the credits here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mono_(mixtape) (namjoon wrote and produced along with other producers for MONO)

Nadia

Totally understand that FAM 🤓💜

WhatchaGot2Say

Joy you are awesome 🤓

WhatchaGot2Say

Agreed...now and forever 💯🤓

WhatchaGot2Say

🤦‍♀️ I don’t know how I missed that! but thank you so much for the link 💜💜💜💜

Shei B.

There Is a producer out of Cali, his channel is called Form of Therapy, and when he heard Everything Goes, he said it made him tear up. He understands Korean and he said the translation of “it passes” was so simplistic, it did not do justice to the emotion convey by the Korean words. Blaze I’m with you! This song is perfection. This playlist is just a whole mood.

Nancy Rodriguez

This was his journey song!! Connected from start to finish.... all types of emotions.... I still love it!! 🥺🥰🔥

Deejay

Thanks for this. Just...thanks.

Regina Marie E

This is the album that the world needs.

Susan St. Clair

MONO gives me so much comfort. like namjoon patting my back saying he understands what i feel..that itll be fine...keep going.. i love it so much. i expected blaze reaction to this especially everythingoes. it's really that one song that will make u cry. thank you for the reviews you guysss💜 hope you can react to hobi hopeworld mixtape too!💜

HoyaEmi

Is this the AGUST D2 album review you are looking for? https://www.patreon.com/posts/37750847

Joy

I think it’s save to say this album has saved lives. I’ve read it somewhere before, but I found this so fitting: mono is not Namjoon taking away your darkness, it’s him sitting in the darkness with you, holding your hand and saying ‚Everything is going to be okay. Promise.‘ When I’m at my lowest, mono is right there to remind me it’s not the end and it is legit and okay what I’m feeling. Listening to Moonchild on a cold winter night driving is the best think, as well as Seoul on the way to work in the morning. But do listen to it front to back because he intended it to be heard that way. Please do react to his Vlive on the album. I was just becoming ARMY when he dropped this, but it sold me for life. Love you guys! Stay safe and healthy!

Kristina Ehrhart

this album I swear has healing powers, I listen to it all the time and it always hits different, theres just something about it that makes you and demands you to think, its just powerful. I really really hope that you guys can do a reaction to Agust D "D-2" because I swear its another masterpiece. Namjoon and Yoongi just hit different with their solos, their words are healing.

Shei B.

Have you listen to the song " I believe " from his first mixtape RM ?

Joy

You can tell when armys needs comfort, because mono. will make an appearance on the charts

A J

I don't know how he did it, but Namjoon managed to create one of the greatest albums ever released with mono.

A J

Anyone who hasn't listen to mono with a good pair of headphones on, please do it. I'm not exaggerating when I say it's life changing.

essi

i remember i was in the lowest place i had ever been in my life when this mixtape came out and the first sit through i sobbed. literally, ugly face sobbing. i can't even explain how much it helped me build myself back up again, i could just feel the comfort namjoon was trying to express in every song.

karen n

Last months I got a depression due to my health condition. Couldn't sleep at all, Mono just saved me from different kind of thoughts. Thank u for appreciating this masterpiece.

Xiblueside

This album was SUCH a masterpiece. Glad Blaze could finally hear it!

Audrey Vasquez

Sorry for my multiple comments. Can’t watch videos all in one go (you know life as a working adult 😅). Anyways just finished and I always love your guys reactions, but I had to come back and comment about Blaze in the end 😂 Loved your flow 💜

Brittney Danielle

Yes every song is just a master piece and all has this intimate feel like hes just writing in a diary to himself you know or him talking out loud to a mirror. And yes jun is the producer its why this album took so ling to come out he really took his time to reflect and just let it out little by little.

Cherie Partin

Thank you so much for your reaction. Listening to Mono has been a profound experience for me and I could see a similar experience reflected in your eyes as you listened. I love every song. Everything Goes stands out for me as a chant, a mantra, that I come back to again and again with or without the music. And as a person in her 50s, for me there is relief in the fact that everything goes, but also pain because each moment, however painful, is gone once it is over. And feeling pain is one of the ways that we know that we are alive. Being willing to stand out in the wind and suck in life despite the fact that it hurts like hell, to accept the pain that change and living brings, is better by far than retreating into yourself to avoid pain. Because it also means you are avoiding life. So this song always makes me cry because every moment is precious to me although each moment can also hurt so much. In the last song, Forever Rain my favorite line is "if I could kiss the whole world so hard would someone welcome me maybe embrace my weary body. It is just such a poignant description for me of a desperate attempt at trying to connect with people. As a kind of intense person myself :-) I can relate. It also calls to mind the lyrics in Intro: Persona "I just wanna give you all the voices till I die, I just wanna give you all the shoulders when you cry" That desperate need to connect to somebody, to share love. It's just so admirable and so closely reflects my own personal philosophy. You just gave me the gift of getting to listen to a mixtape I love with friends I can relate to. Thanks for a lovely evening. :-)

Fran G

I'm so happy that I found you guys and this patreon and your YouTube channel. Because being African-American I have been looked down because you know I like BTS and just to see three people with knowledge about aspects of the reasons why I have love for BTS is just amazing and it makes me feel like I'm not alone. So I thank you for giving me something I don't really get anywhere else which is acceptance.

Joddie Vincent

This album legit saved my life. When I lost myself and felt abandoned it broke me down to build me up again

Kelsie Lewis

I felt your emotions. I was getting into your genuine respect for the meaning and depth of Kim Nam Joon's intelligence of life...thank you...

yeong lee

I’m glad Blaze was able to listen. This album is my go to when I need a release. Everythinggoes is my lullaby and I ALWAYS cry. Hell, I cried when you were reacting to it. Also, random fact, this album has (Atleast at the moment) 116 #1s on ITunes and is the 2nd album in ITunes history to have the most #1s around the world. RM making history.

Brittney Danielle

Mono is a MASTERPIECE! Enough said.

Stacy

Yo Blaze guess what? RM IS the main producer of Mono 😉

Brittney Danielle

All their mixtapes are first on my playlists rigHt after coffee.. Thia gives me self reflection at the start of my day.. I love how blaze loved the whole mixtape :) BTS is on another level and no one can change the fact that they are legends

Nadge Kumiko Satonaka

Thank you for appreciating mono! I like how you always go into every reaction with an open heart ready to understand the music. Also I hope you can react to a Jin vocal compilation soon. I think you reacted to the rest of the vocal line's compilation so I can't wait until you got the full team :)

jesslyn haim

This whole album and intro: persona is a comfort to many people because Joon framed his reflection of humans in our self-contradicting nature in such a nice way. We always question ourselves and feel guilty for being duplicitous but Joon said it's okay to embrace this and console ourselves.

jesslyn haim

This has the be the BTS related project that I relate to the most. Namjoon really gave us a masterpiece that so many of us can relate to.

Sa'ad Khan

Rlly glad to have Blaze back <3 <3 <3 I'm so happy you finally got to experience Mono. It's such a masterpeice, rlly. It was just a healing/cathartic moment for so many ppl, and still is. For me personally, I cried so much and so many times listening to the whole album, esp Moonchild. It hit me the same way as Whalien 52. I just relate to it so much as someone who constantly feels out of place "under the sunlight." And then there's Everythinggoes w/c is basically that saying that "there is no night that doesn't give way to the day" but it's so beautifully written that it just hits you like a punch, like you guys said. Those 2 songs are my faves off the album, but there's literally 0 skips in this. In fact, the album is best listened to from start to end for the full effect. (And like Blaze said, it deserves at least 10 Grammys) Also, in case no one answered it yet, Joon IS the executive producer for this one <3

Lady Wellflower

I just recently became a patreon of yours because I can truly feel how genuine you all are in your reactions.. It is so refreshing to watch y'all appreciate BTS and what they stand for, unlike many other reactors who may have different intentions.. Mono is a complete masterpiece and I loved every moment of yalls reaction!! Much love, thank you for this

brook

interesting what you said about the similar letters thing that lyricists do, cause rm does that a lot, for example in his solo song trivia:love , he does it both in eng and kor, he uses and explains about the similarities of both love and live , and 사랑(love) and 사람 (people)

smol

mono is like medicine to me. i will always be grateful for this album because it has helped me through so many of the darkest times in my life. i totally agree that this album deserves many grammys

indigoes

Thank you for this.. I've never sat down and listened to all the songs in order, I cried during the whole reaction, lol. <3 And thank you for the bonus clip, lol.

Madpleasure

Mono really saved me I listen to every song when I have severe anxiety and insomnia. Namjoon really has a way with lyrics and sound that just calms the soul. I love K-Indie music a lot and Nell has a special place in my heart but to hear Nell working on a song with Namjoon just made this mixtape mean so much to me. I'm so glad Blaze enjoyed every song thank you for sharing it with him Nico 💜 Can I recommend you both watch RM's vlive where he talks about mono and how much he worked on the mixtape for years before releasing it, it's so touching how much work went into this masterpiece.

Watching this at 1am and RM wont probably make me sleep. It's my first time hearing the entire mixtape and man, I love your reactions. I also love how you and Blaze disect the lyrics. Such meaningful and deep realization of how life works. Thanks guys! Btw my fave is Moonlight. But all songs are masterfully created. 💜

Mono is my door to my mind, I don’t know how to explain it but every time that I listen to it a feel like he is talking to me. It’s just him, RM is Mono that is it.

Yine Longart

Watching this brings back a lot of fond memories when Mono just drop. I love both of your reaction. Please react to RM explaining Mono. You can really understand what is he trying to say through this ia playlist. Again, kudos for reacting to my favourite person in the world 💜

Akina Teh

Awesome of course! I love when you guys get into deep discussion about a song. Moonchild and uhgood are my favorites, but everything else is close second.

Last update I belive Mono had reached 116 #1’s, making RM the first and only Asian ever to have the Most #1's in iTunes history, and keeping his position at #2 with the highest charting album! 💜🤘🏽👏🏽 Namjoon deserves it !

"MASTERPIECE" is the perfect word to sum up this RM gift to us!! 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜

According to Wiki, RM is the exec producer, composition, rap/vocal arrangement and recording engineer. (Pdogg & Hiss noise was co-pro.... with the additions of Supreme Boi track 1, Honne track 2, El Capitxn track 4 & 5, Sam Klempner track 5, JW track 6, Adora track 7)

Madpleasure

Namjoon is the executive producer and -on different tracks- also known bighit producers (For Ex Adora, Pdogg)

what you said about mono meeting people where they are is SO TRUE.. the entire album is like a hand on your back saying “it’s ok to be sad right now. things will get better, and i’m here for you” and it’s so powerful. RM wrote and had overall say so in the composition and production of the entire thing and it’s such a masterpiece. he truly is an artist 💜

Kerri

Lol yessss! 🤓🙌🏼

WhatchaGot2Say

I’m at work but the moment I get home I’m watching this. Been dying to see Blaze hear Mono.

Christina

Ñoooooooo im at work 😫 cant wait to watch tonight 💜🥳

CarmenF

First here! Been waiting for this! There’s a reason he debuted with the name ‘Rap Monster’ you know, even if he’s outgrown it, it’s still 100% applicable in my eyes 💜💜

Heaven Daigle

GASP!!! I’m sooooooooooooo excited and omg thank you!!! EDIT: ok Im like 10 minns in and Ive already started on a good cry, all the feels and haven't stopped nodding in agreement. P.S. Yes, Mr. Kim Nmajoon produced the album as Exec, with Pdogg and Hiss Noise listed as co-producers, along with many others...but our man was the leader, as he so rightly deserves to be and embodies so well. And WORD to this being such powerful healing music. The album run time is p-e-r-f-e-c-t for a walk and leaves you at peace and ease afterwards. Thank you both for your reaction...now to watch the rest. LOLOL
