U-Matic tapes update!
Added 2024-07-17 08:47:09 +0000 UTCI have received digital transfers back from the batch of old U-Matic tapes that were sent away to be converted. Some hit and miss results.
Some of the tape contents could not be salvaged completely unfortunately so where some of the tapes should be an hour, they have a shorter run-time where only the first 20-30 minutes (for example) could be saved.
This is due to the tapes likely not being stored away properly for the last 40 years. Some of the tapes that did transfer in full are also a little shaky at times but still seem to be watchable.
Anyway, for Premium members I have uploaded a couple of new shows from these in the July folder. (These are what the screenshots are from)
A complete George Cannon Superstars of Wrestling show which appears to be from December 1982. While there aren’t too many big superstars in this promotion it’s still interesting to watch, but the promos are probably the best thing on the show.
Also one of the WWF Superstars of Wrestling 1985 shows that was incomplete (runtime is 45 minutes) which includes some local promos for the upcoming Detroit house show.
More to come next month and more tapes will be sent away to be converted soon too!
