Build in 3D using light!

Time for my first steps into the world of 3D printing, where I will explore the science of a fascinating printing technique. A resin printer that uses photons to print ultraprecise.

It feels so futuristic to use light and liquid to print something solid in 3D. And based on your answers in the latest poll, resin printers are still relatively rare compared to the filament 3D printers.

I will show you how the printing proces works in a UV resin printer and do some measurements on the printer's light, filtering etc.

I am excited by the possibilities this opens to me. I can for example finish my laser beam dump :)

I got it at a local pet store. Try searching for something like 'silicone feeding mat'. Works well with the resins. A paper cloth will wipe the resin right off of it. Will handle isopropyl alcohol just fine too :) The one in the video is 40x30 cm. I also have a 60x40 cm in semitransparent white that the whole printer can stand in/on.

Where did you get the silicone spill mat you featured in this video?
