Overanalyzing Bojack Horseman: "That's Too Much, Man!"
Added 2024-08-20 09:00:42 +0000 UTC**SPOILERS** Still NEARLY my favorite episode of the entire show since it came out. The aftereffects of the decisions made from the beginning of this episode can be felt for the rest of the series, including season 6. While it was eclipsed in season 5, I can't deny that this is likely the most important episode of the show, and is a huge turning point for both Bojack and the overall trajectory of this show's overarching plot.
This episode does a fantastic job of diving as far as possible into Sarah Lynn's character and her predicament. We get so much context for why she acts the way she does, and this episode helps contextualize her as more of a person than the entire rest of the series has. She truly shows her vulnerability and aspirations before leaving this world for good, and I can't help but be heartbroken listening to it, especially when I know what happens at the end of this episode.
God, the storytelling of this show just never gets old does it? This episode still breaks my heart after so many years.
