One of the more requested of the Bojack video essays, probably because this relationship is front and center for most of the seasons of the show. And due to that, it does contain a lot of layers and mistakes from both parties. However, one common opinion that I see is one where the audience places the blame on either Diane or Mr. Peanutbutter, when it's really neither of their faults. No one can know what will come of a relationship before they get into it, and when it moves as fast as theirs did, it can be hard to know what the right choice for yourself.
In this case, their relationship contained a fundamental misunderstanding of both what the world is and what they wanted from each other. There was simply no way, even with development on both sides, for this relationship to flourish with the major differences and cracks that were present even when they first started. Not to mention, there's not much to draw each other to one another in the first place.
