A slower, plot-building episode, but still filled with incredibly thoughtful and exciting moments! We loved to see Rhaenyra yearn for peace despite all the men around her screaming for war to begin with dragons burning down armies. And we ESPECIALLY loved that she went to Alicent directly, and they were able to finally understand each other. I mean...war isn't over (not even close), but it helps for me to know that this underlying relationship is not damaged beyond repair. Rhaenyra understands that Alicent was not plotting, and Alicent understands that she may not be 100% right about HER Aegon. Brilliant character writing, even if the war cannot be resolved via one conversation...which is more realistic.
And then everyone is divided up, clearly building to some sort of coming confrontation. I'm extremely nervous for the next episode (mostly because of it's title) and who we could lose in the first official battle from this war. But they've done a great job plunging us back into the conflict, and showing where everyone stands before fighting erupts.
