A daft laugh with Photoshop's new AI features
Added 2023-05-31 16:27:51 +0000 UTCThe new Photoshop beta has the Adobe Firefly AI features built in so I have been playing with them. While obviously I fear AI taking my job (and everyone else's) I do think it has a significant role as a visual aide when built into software when you, like me, are not the absolute king of visual imagination. While its efforts to rework my characters were predictably not great, when I gave it panels to to extend, I found the results quite interesting. So here are a few for your amusement.
It struggled with my request for "long, beautiful hair" for Claire but, I mean, it halfway got there.
As for Lottie, well, I guess we know who it is...
So far, so amusant. But then I gave it backgrounds to work on and you begin to see the magic at work. First, Claire's room seems to go on forever...

Now, do you remember "Christmas With Clovis"? You could never have imagined what lay beyond the panel edge...
I was quite impressed that it managed to finish Maggie's leg below, which was cropped at the panel edge. Worryingly convincing J. Allison leg.
Finally, Billie's Brian-fooling fake sabbat from Steeple Lite. Squint, and this is extremely convincing.

I'm impressed at how long Bili's leg has to be for the foot to be sticking out there. And, that Maggie's clothing turns out to cover only her front side.
