WUT2

WUT2 is an extremely digital processor with the aim to make you feel like tweaking analog gear. It's trying to emulate the analog workflow, not the sound. The idea is that by laying out the controls and letting them react with the audio in a certain way you will be more present and become better at listening. Hopefully, you'll have the same feeling of tweaking this as I do.

WUT2 has 3 bands, weight, mid-thing, and air. They all have similarities with an EQ, especially the weight and air bands but there's nothing common with them on the inside. The mid-thing band works mostly as a stereo and dynamic widening tool but will boost the mids with about 1dB at the max position.

So far I've used it mainly for mastering but I think the weight and strain control would be cool on basses or without strain to create that massive movie low-end for sound effects. I'm guessing that the mid-thing and air band could sound amazing on vocals, let's try that!

I haven't had the time to update the manual but aiming to do that next week.

Hey Frederik, Have you tested with other containers yet?

Noisebud

For some reason, this installer created an error on M1 and M2 computers even though the plugin is installed. I haven't been able to figure out why. It seems to work perfectly on Intel Macs. Hopefully, I'll afford an M1 this fall to make development easier. Will see how many Patreons I can attract so that I can make that happen. Have you tried Elements with WUT and WUT2, it's a free alternative to Meta Plugin and Blue Cat's Patchwork. I posted about it here: https://www.patreon.com/posts/sunday-tip-for-81930978

Thanks, I have been able to open WUT2 in Nuendo with Metaplugin, despite supposedly failed installation. However, as with WUT, I have the problem that the parameters are not saved when the program is closed. I assume it has to do with the Metaplugin because the settings are saved when I use the AU plugin directly in StudioOne, not via the Metaplugin. I'll try some alternative containers in the next few days.
