Update on the boat!
Added 2017-10-19 18:11:16 +0000 UTCWe've had so many calls and emails on the Lazy Gecko that it's crazy. I'd say about 4 of them are serious buyers looking to purchase a boat now. As you probably saw on the last video (Vimeo version), we've been holding off on showing her because of the uncertain market after Irma shook everything up. Not only for our boat but as far as buying another one! The word is that values are going to increase because of the lack of boats left from the storm. From our experience in talking with others, they're finding that a lot of the market on the southern eastern sailing grounds were damaged. It's their main concern when inquiring about the boat. We have NOT seen any increase in boat value on the west coast. We plan to take a trip to a far off land (stay tuned) soon to check some boats out there so we'll see how that goes.
We are still going to show the boat though. We'll be traveling back to Key West in November to allow people to view her. We must say that we're a bit nervous to see the condition of the boat due to the fact that no one has been able to get inside of it since Irma hit us last month. There's the possibility of sitting water if the bilge pump has stopped working plus some other stuff that might have happened.
