First Looks - I Sewed A Thing

First time ever working with stretch fabric - I expected everything to explode, but i'm finally excited for this Wonder Woman costume!

“ Comfortable, dance belt“-if ever there was an oxymoron…😜

Pelleas

Good job! Fitted underwear is notoriously tricky because of the wide variances in thigh-hole diameter and gusset width. It looks like you managed the material really well.

Vic Kelly

Not AS bad as they look. It feels like a comfortable dance belt almost.

They look great, but also uncomfortably snug?

Lionel L.

Yep - Jack is spot on with that advice. Zigzag stitch is super helpful when sewing stretchy fabric. You also need to be careful to let the machine do the feeding and not pull on it at all. But aside from all that, well done!

BrianRook

that will help, but if your machine has the same stitch but for a zig-zag it is a bit better. . .forgive me, just more stretch to it. Somethings you want to have some stretch to them. :)

Jack

I did the triple backstitch thingy on my machine. lol whatever it’s called

looks hot to me, lol

Jack

Did you sew with a zig-zag stitch? I find that to be the best way to sew stretch fabrics, the zig-zag gives some stretch in the seam so it doesn't pop as readily. Also moves through the machine a little better. Pro tip, lol.

Jack

…saves lives. Sorry, I am a crass neanderthal. 😅 Looking good. Can’t wait to see the finished product.
