I even suppose that it isn't awful the common areas are monitored. I mean it's not ok if he doesn't know about it obviously, but in and of itself, not the worst thing in the world. But he didn't have a camera in Jeremy's bedroom or the bathroom, so he did respect his privacy, at least to a point.... Plus has Jeremy ever paid rent? I mean really, ever?

2025-02-14 22:50:53 +0000 UTCSpeaking with people has become extremely difficult now with phones giving the sense of extreme availability. Many people have developed unhealthy attatchment styles and dependancy on others replies and attention. Quite an intense world we live in at the moment!

2025-02-14 22:35:31 +0000 UTCSo sorry to hear that you went through that MCL. Some people just don't understand boundaries and don't seem to know healthy avenues to deal with their stuff. Nothing about that behaviour you described sounds remotely healthy and the fact that despite repeated actions to show that communication was discontinued they still went about finding a way to contact you? What the heck did they hope to achieve at that point in the exchange? Sadly this is the problem with modern communications it can open the doors to a lot of great things and allows for exchanges with people you wouldn't normally meet in life but it also creates the illusion of access and availability. Whereas before people had to either see the person face to face or leave a message on their home phone. Hope that doesn't happen again (Sorry for the long paragraph for some reason this message thread won't let me split my paragraphs and just posts the message when I hit enter to make a new one?)

2025-02-09 09:06:12 +0000 UTCI recently saw a video of a woman who had blocked a guy but forgot he was still on her Spotify account. He was creating playlists and using song titles to spell out messages begging her to call him. I agree with youโdonโt be that person. And Iโll add: if anyone knows that person, stop them. ๐ค๐ค

2025-02-09 01:39:15 +0000 UTC@Josh Read Don't forget that laws and law enforcement jurisdictions are separated in the States. One thing could be lawful in one State but not another and vice versa, unless it's a Federal law of course which applies to them all. While it was a creepy situation (as he must've done a lot to track down where she lived), at least he didn't do anything else other than turn up to meet her. I'm sure if things had escalated then the police would've done more, but even then that would've taken time and resources as she only knew his first name and which State he lived in. There are indeed some strange people on this planet, and i'm glad that i'm not an attractive woman because I can only imagine what they go through!

2025-02-09 00:34:31 +0000 UTCThat's shocking they didn't fo anything. Still at least its all over now. There are some very strange people in the world isn't there ๐

2025-02-08 21:21:16 +0000 UTC@Josh Read She was and did report it to the police. But as he lived in a different state they essentially said there was nothing they could do, and that the only crime he'd actually committed was trespassing. Hence she bought the guns in case he ever turned up again. He did post one more video after the incident saying that he obviously got things wrong etc. and that was the last she heard of him. (she's since moved and no longer does YouTube)

2025-02-08 20:12:47 +0000 UTCA "beard" can be a term used for a woman who dates or marries a homosexual man. This is to hide the fact that the man is homosexual usually for reputational reasons or career advancement. This is also known as a lavender marriage. I wonder if this is what is happening here. Is Dobby the 'Gregory's beard' of the title?
Jeffrey44
2025-02-08 20:02:48 +0000 UTCThat's so romantic. It sounds like the plot to a film. It could even be a romcom if they had the dogs speaking.

2025-02-08 19:47:45 +0000 UTCLamb Pasanda is an Indian curry. In ye olde days of YouTube you could send private messages and attach videos to reply to others, like a delayed conversation. A friend of mine used to post vlogs and she started receiving private messages and having videos attached to her vlogs by a guy. He was convinced she was talking directly to and about him. She ignored all of his messages and videos, never once interacting with him. (this went on for about two years if memory serves) She lived alone (other than with her small dogs) and with no other houses nearby. When out for a walk one day she saw someone walking up the hill towards her. It was the guy, apparently heโd driven from Alabama to Pennsylvania for 13hrs to see her. He was shocked when she started shouting at him to keep his distance, leave and never come back. Thankfully he did otherwise sheโd have been in trouble (sheโs only 5โ 4โ). Soon after she bought a few guns and stashed them in various rooms and always took one with her when out for a walk. Now THATโs creepy!

2025-02-08 17:37:24 +0000 UTCGod, you're good at picking up relatable topics this week; sorry, another long one, ironically. Been on both sides of the texting game. A lot of lessons learnt when I was in the teens. We've discussed this a little before. I make an effort now not to pester people. I can understand how overwhelming it is for girls, (and boys too nowadays), especially when you just cant get a moment to yourself or your working and your phone is filled to the brim with notifications. But, likewise, I also can understand how frustrated the texters can be, when you just have so much to say, but can't condense it down, and girls especially hate big long paragraphs.... a bit like this one ๐ And it gets worse when the person doesn't reply for several days or weeks, or just ignores them altogether, it can be perceived as quite rude or callous and just makes the texter send more out of insecurity. I'm resigned to video, snaps, or calls now where possible, way more efficient. Plus, I like to see the person's face when I'm talking. ๐

2025-02-08 16:57:37 +0000 UTCAccording to the wiki he's supposed to be American but played by an Irishman, so Mandy nailed it at the end there. But it says he's a blogger, and his attire suggested he was from elsewhere.

2025-02-08 16:24:23 +0000 UTCI thought he was supposed to be Swedish or something and had been living there for a while. It certainly wasn't a good accent if it was supposed to be American :)

2025-02-08 16:21:08 +0000 UTCYes it was made to be the last season, but it's a low key show, I think the ending is fitting for the show and the characters, can't wait to see what you think!

2025-02-08 15:47:17 +0000 UTCI'd be surprised if many people under 30 know anything about the Falklands war or Argentina other than they are good at football. When I was a kid they did have a reputation for invading Islands when they thought they wouldn't have to fight for them and cheating at Football. I think all that has mostly been forgotten now.

2025-02-08 15:45:01 +0000 UTCWatchmen is pretty good. Alan Moore who wrote the comics is from Northampton in the UK. He did his own low budget "comic book movie" in response to all the film adaptations of his work. It's called "The Show (2020)" and it is sublime, but I think its so local reference dense people with no deep connection to Northamptonshire could struggle to get into it. The credits music was from the B-Side of this corporate development promotional record https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4xKjGqefH7U

2025-02-08 15:45:00 +0000 UTCWeirdly enough I don't remember how this ends. I haven't had a TV in.... 17 years? So I never saw these series when they originally aired. I think I must've been drunk when I did eventually watch them because it's more of a blur, or maybe I'm just getting old :) There's another programme with both of them in it which is more recent, just called Back, which I'm hoping will still get a third series because it definitely didn't wrap up at the end of the second. That would be worth a watch at some point when you get through your backlog :)
