2024-12-10 10:48:03 +0000 UTCYeah the shoulder thing is the "new" bit, noone was wearing them like that here in the 90s. I think it looks good, too, and I have one... though I feel a bit "Hello fellow young people!" when I wear it. π

2024-12-10 02:54:51 +0000 UTCHaha yes! The world is NOT made for people like us but the dang "early bird" people set up societies schedules while we were sleeping! Sneeky bastards! π« Also, I do hope you get to rest properly every few days or at least once a week. When I was studying I used to have to wake up 5.45 a.m. to get to school. Those were some rough years.. π -- Also thank you so very much Terje! π©·ππ You have been so incredibly supportive and I am forever grateful. I do work a lot but wonderful people like you who enjoy it make it worth while. π

2024-12-09 18:32:05 +0000 UTCHey Mandy! Thanks, I'm liking this show more and more. They are such idiots, but they make me feel I'm in total control of my life in every way! Haha :) I usually watch everything the same day you post, but now I've fallen a bit behind. Especially on the XFM series where I'm maybe over a month behind.. I have some "work" to do. A few things, both related and not related to this video - a long one, sorry: Sounds like your and my cardigan cycles are very similar. So we are the ones who stay up at night and keep watch for the others (while we do all our chores). My brain starts to really work from about 10 pm, and then I don't really want to go to bed until morning. The downside is that I have a pretty traditional job where I'm expected to be available from 8 am to 4 pm. Some days I work from home, and some days I drive 1β1.5 hours each way to one of the offices I'm assigned to, so that means some days I have to get up around 6 am. So the fact that I'm sitting here watching this video now and writing this at 2:15 am doesn't really fit in. Lucky me, I'm working from home tomorrow and can sleep until 7:45 am :) I might also have to find a job at a theater so I can work in the evenings instead. The world just isn't made for people like us. I haven't congratulated you on your new apartment. Congratulations! Finally! I bet it's going to feel really good to have your own place again. So happy for you! Just let me know if you need any help moving, and I'll see what I can do. But I'm not available for paint jobs (but I know you like to do that yourself). I can do small electrical work though, or maybe but in some smart home things :) Another thing. It just occurred to me that a couple of anniversaries have passed that I forgot to celebrate. Well, is it two or one? It comes down to how you look at it, I guess. On the 19th of October, it was two years since I became a member of your YouTube channel. And on the 25th, it was two years since I became a Patreon. I guess it was early October of '22 that you showed up in my feed, and I was a fan immediately. I have said this many times before, but I just have to say it again: Thank you soooo much for all the time and effort you put into giving us fans this great entertainment. You really have become an important part of my life, with your big smile, your absolutely lovely laughter, and your great personality and humor. πβ€οΈπ The days would not be the same without. I hope for many more anniversaries, no pressure :) (not sure what colour heart was appropriate so there you go :) ) Should I watch Phoenix Nights now? I saw a t-shirt once that said "I'll sleep when I'm dead"..

2024-12-09 01:24:40 +0000 UTCβWhatβs wrong with bumbags?β - this episode is from a time period when they were still considered HIGHLY unfashionable, like mocked as much as mullets used to be, until the young βuns brought them back into fashion in recent times. I know many other older millennials who CANNOT believe teenagers are wearing them again. π

2024-12-08 20:55:15 +0000 UTCThe sleep thing is interesting. Before the pandemic I was a total night owl but then I got that anxiety thing in the first year of it where I would wake up at 3am every morningβ¦ that meant Iβd be too tired to stay up past like 10pm and that has just become when I need to go to bed now! Being 40 now probably also has something to do with that, itβs amazing how much more tiring life is. π

2024-12-07 16:01:49 +0000 UTCSee, it's shows like this, Phoenix Nights, Extras etc that have dragged trash like me here. Other shows to avoid to not gather our kind include The League of Gentlemen, Father Ted, Nighty Night, Alan Partridge, Still Game etc. so.

2024-12-07 15:27:31 +0000 UTC@lemmy but probably good as a nighttime lookout? I'm not sure if a direct comparison can be made mind you, because your entire upbringing and life would shape people completely differently. I'm pretty sure I did once read something suggesting it was a trait which doesn't work well in the modern world but was beneficial to tribal groups. Something like that anyway.

2024-12-07 14:45:38 +0000 UTChaha as someone with ADHD I beg to differ, I guess ADHD may differ between people but there's the other side of it where you find it near impossible to move to action to perform even 5 minute jobs, like terminal levels of procrastination you're physically unable to break out of. I'd be a disaster back in survival days! Sometimes find it a problem to survive in the modern world :D

2024-12-07 13:50:16 +0000 UTCThat's the weirdest part of all of it! We call it a bum bag despite nobody wearing it on the part of the body we know as a "bum". The Americans call it a fanny pack despite nobody wearing it on the part of the body they know as a "fanny".

2024-12-07 13:42:16 +0000 UTCWe appear to have Dory as a host today, or she's probs only just got up. Is that top a weird colour or us it one of those translucent mesh ones? 04:15 "Bumbag" you'd call it a fanny pack π€£... we don't for that reason. And I'm sure you knew this already, front bottom = fanny. It's a really cringe way of saying it. I nearly always sleep past 12. I don't really feel a benefit from more than 5 hours sleep, but I'm up anywhere from 5 until midnight most days. I just...have stuff to do. All my housework gets done in darkness. It's called a Circadian Rhythm. Any rhythm that occurs across 24h, ultradian for any cycle longer than 24h (for example: menstral cycle) and infradian for anything less than 24h.
