Mandy holding the cat while the song Magic started playing was adorable. Thank you universe for that lucky coincidence.

Tom

Well you are a celebrity duh, what would it take to get you to do it tho, do you at least know the concept?

Joshyboiiiiii

I am not a celebrity, I have never seen those shows and I don't dance when people can see me 😅🤣

Mandy Cane Lane

Random question of the day: so I've just finished watching strictly come dancing and it got me thinking, if you moved back to the states or came to England and seems as you're a celebrity would you do strictly or dancing with the stars?

Josh sloan

You are very welcome. I know, when I joined and saw all the exclusive reactions on here I thought wow I've been missing out. Extras then taskmaster will be awesome to watch. Hope you've been doing well. Stay happy 😊

Josh Read

Haha! I really appreciate it Josh! 🫶🏻 Hope you enjoy your stay here! 🌈🤗 And I believe this is much better than Youtube memberships. Patreon allows me so much more to offer 🙌🏻

Mandy Cane Lane

It was quite the comment to write. Well I've finally got around to joining your patreon. Been.loving the extras reactions 🤣

Josh Read

Hahaha, that is quite the comment to read 🤣😅

Mandy Cane Lane

I used to share a house with the cousin of tits and teeth girl.

Josh Read

Haha, I am luckily always very conscious of the language I am speaking and to whom I am speaking. 🤪

Mandy Cane Lane

Hi Mandy, 10:10 Ok, took me way too long to transcribe, let alone translate, your indecipherable phrase right there, but I did it! It’s “sha fue”, an Argentinian version of the Spanish phrase “ya fue” which, I believe in this context means, “that’s history!” You nodded at us and your hand gesture suggested nothing could be more obvious, and was like: naturally guys, “sha fue”! That took all sorts of detective work, got there in the end 😁 10:24 Aaaah ffs, I should really have played it on a bit first, for your explanation! 🤣 and there’s me thinking you’d forgotten which language you were using 😔😆 22:43 “a sight for sore eyes”, no “sad” in the expression 🥲 yet implicitly cheered up. 24:59 yeah those little stick mics are connected to a battery pack usually at the waist, wired under the clothes and you can have them sticking out anywhere, to accommodate wigs, costume or makeup! They sometimes tape it to bare skin to get closer to the mouth, then apply makeup over the tape. I’ve used some on stage myself. That party performance was several layers of nope. Thanks again Mandy G

Props to him for being able to make fun of himself so much!

Mandy Cane Lane

Les Dennis was famously married to Amanda Holden when he was 42 and she was 24. They divorced after 8 years and this was filmed not long after that.

Lee Dellbridge

Ahh desensitisation, the hallmark of modern society. Tool wrote a good song about that. It's called Stinkfist. Can you guess what that's all about?

Feathers McGraw

He did have to on a few occasions 😁

Rusty Dog

👍👍🖤

TheHigh

Correct, When the W Blows. W = Whistle.

Jeffrey44

I'm 36 mate, and honestly it feels like yesterday. I want to go back, do you want to come with me?

James Aston

Haha! LOVE IT!

Mandy Cane Lane

OMG bike with wongs is brilliant!! Haha! Did he ever give money himself? 🤪

Mandy Cane Lane

I have been told some of the background! Good for him to be able to make fun of himself like this! 🙌🏻🤗

Mandy Cane Lane

Not telling who it is. You'll just have to find out. 🤫

Tony Mingoia

Haha, I am evolving! Someone also pointed out to me that I am less bothered by some 'rude' jokes now. I am growing up! 😃

Mandy Cane Lane

Thank you Matthew! 🤗🤗

Mandy Cane Lane

All very interesting indeed, thank you very much Mr 44! 🤗🤗 And.... ummm.... was it 'whistle'? 👀

Mandy Cane Lane

Thank you Tony! And OMG OMG OMG! Is it Karl?? Or Bob?? This show is hilarious enough I don't even need context. Lol

Mandy Cane Lane

Ohhh! Google did not provide that information! 🤗 Lol. Good for him to be able to make fun of it here! Also, I have no idea how old you are James, but it just pained me to read "way back in 2002". 2002 was only a few years ago, right? 🥺

Mandy Cane Lane

Good for him that his career was able to pick up! 🙌🏻🤗

Mandy Cane Lane

Ya fue.

This episode has so much awkward and cringe. So good. I have been binge-watching the Les Dennis era of Family Fortunes of the last week (all on YouTube). And there have been some strange answers :) "Name something that flies but doesn't have an engine", was answered with "A bike with wings". And this after them having quite a lot of time to think. Another question "What does a dog do that you wish you could do yourself?" - Well, talk about a leading question. But one of the women in the family... she said it - and I'm sure it needs no explanation :) If they gave a bad answer, that's when Les would say "If it's up there I'll give you the money myself" (and on occasion it WAS up there) :) So cool that you're doing these.

Rusty Dog

If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask. I don't mind at all and would be more than happy to explain anything you are struggling to parse or understand.

Jeffrey44

He was in popular soap opera Coronation Street for a while and was in not so popular Ricky Gervais sitcom Life's Too Short.

Jeffrey44

Sooo looking forward to the next episode 😁

Danny

Wtf

Mark Fraser

How long did it help his career? Because in the show the joke is he’s known for one impression, Family Fortunes and Celebrity Big Brother - like 15 years later I feel like I can only add this episode to that list.

Mark Fraser

I loved this episode, Les Dennis had some balls doing it as his career was over so a lot of it was close to the bone in this one, I grew up with Les on Family Fortunes so will always have a soft spot for him.

Mark Jones

Ooooh! And also I liked you catching the "my sister..." excuse being re-hashed from the first episode. It's those little things that are often the nuggets of comedy gold isn't it haha.

Steve with a beard

33:20 😂 I remember when you started reacting to Peep Show and some others, the whole cringe factor was a thing. At 33:20 in this reaction, the look of glee in your face at a cringe moment says to me that you're now accustomed to it 😂 Also the shock when you first discovered Bunny was the girl's dad was excellent haha. Great stuff 😁

Steve with a beard

I forgot Les was on this, he was part of my childhood. I'm glad you're enjoying it.

Matthew Beckford

Notice how the agent (played by Stephen Merchant) has another client called Shaun Williamson (played by Shaun Williamson). He didn't appear in this episode but it's who the agent suggested should play the Genie when Les Dennis and Bunny weren't keen on Andy Millman taking the role. What's interesting is that the agent calls him Barry. This is because Shaun Williamson's most famous role was as a character called Barry in the television soap opera EastEnders. At this time, he was probably better known to the British public as Barry from EastEnders rather than his real name of Shaun Williamson. He would even be introduced as Barry from EastEnders when appearing on other programmes. The agent, being useless, also sees him only as Barry and so doesn't use his real name. I'm sure you will agree, this is all very interesting information. It is particularly interesting because you called the character Andy Millman (played by Ricky Gervais), "Ricky". You did the opposite to what the agent does. Can you remember the name of the sitcom that Andy Millman (played by Ricky Gervais) wrote and gave to his agent (played by Stephen Merchant)? Here's a clue, "When the W Blows". Can you remember what the 'W' stands for?

Jeffrey44

Glad you're enjoying it Mandy, despite not necessarily knowing who the featured celebrity is. By the way, there is a Christmas special of this show, an hour or longer in length, it's excellent, and has a tiny cameo from someone special. I wonder if you will spot them when you get round to it. 😊

Tony Mingoia

This whole episode is basically making fun of how Les Dennis got depressed on Celebrity Big Brother way back in 2002. He had just split up with his wife (Amanda Holden, who was much younger than him and about 10x hotter) before going on the show. Just like in this episode, he got really depressed about it while in the BB house.

James Aston

Or Family Feud as an American would say.

Jeffrey44

One of my favourite episodes of the season, Les Dennis' character in this isn't too far from the truth of where he and his career were actually at and like how they say in this episode by making a joke out of it it actually helped his career. He's been in comedy for a very long time and worked with some of the all time greats like Tommy cooper but yeah He's mostly just know for family fortunes!
