Some parts of the video required us to leave the comfort of the red room and shoot on location. The farthest trip was upstate, near Universal Studios to film the epilogue with a real DeLorean! The header pic is me being instructed on how to drive manual transmission by the owner of the facility where the cars are stored. (I'll be posting a video to show just how bad I was at this.)
We used the Part 2 version of the car (with a Mr. Fusion reactor), but I also got to play around with this snazzy, modernized Part 1 replica.

Since it's pre-hover conversion, to make it levitate, you have to use a standard car lift, as seen here. It also needs to be constantly recharged with plutonium, which is a real pain. (Probably due to the extreme radiation exposure.)

Almost as much of a hassle as a Tesla.
Kidding. These cars are just big, intricate props stuffed with lights and special effects. Look closely and you can spot the theatrical fog jets inside the cooling vents:

As you might've been able to tell from the final shot, the weather was moody that day. We had to stand by for a lot of rain to pass. Here I am ready to film, waiting next to some old junk. They really ought to clean this place up!

Aside from the DeLorean scene, we also had to film the section with Ami at 2 different locations. The intro was at home base.

However, and I'm sorry to ruin the magic, the room didn't *really* transform into a movie set. That part was at an actual production studio in Ft. Lauderdale.
We came to scout it in advance and it pretty much looked the way it does in the video:

Only we had to light everything with our own lights on the day. We also had to bring the VFXcool table and chairs there. Unfortunately, extreme moisture from the recent hurricane Irma had ruined the table surface design...

...which I only found out the day before filming! So I quickly re-printed and re-glued whole thing. We disassembled the table to fit it in the car with all the other props and gear. Here Emily & I are putting it back together on the set before filming.

A truly. Glamorous. Profession.
But seriously, I enjoy every minute of it. And your generous patronage is what enables me to put fun flourishes like this on my videos to make them better. Thank you so much for your continuous support!
More stuff soon.
